A brilliant testimonial to receive following our work at the Kelvingrove Live Site πŸ™Œ

Scottish BMX School had the opportunity to play a big part in the event, from delivering inclusive Come & Try BMX sessions to performing live BMX demonstrations and taking part in the opening parade. 🚲

It was great to see people of all ages and abilities getting involved, many experiencing BMX for the first time.

Feedback like this means a lot to us and shows exactly what BMX can bring to major events β€” participation, entertainment and something a little different for audiences.

A huge thanks to everyone involved at Kelvingrove Live for having us! 🀝

If you're planning an event and want to bring BMX to your audience, we'd love to hear from you.

We carried out a community event in partnership with North Ayrshire Council & their ranger service recently. Park Ranger had this to say about our BMX workshops & we ended up being a key pillar of the event.

We hope to be returning to North Ayrshire in October.

As the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games come to a close, we're taking a moment to reflect on what has been an unforgettable journey for Scottish BMX School.

From the very first planning meetings before the Games had even begun, through to the final event, we've been incredibly proud to work alongside the Commonwealth Games as a Local Delivery Partner.

What started as an exciting opportunity quickly became one of the biggest milestones in our journey as an organisation.

Our achievements with working with the games include:

πŸ“Ί Taken BMX into the mainstream with features across multiple TV channels and newspapers.

🚲 Designed, planned and delivered our first large-scale BMX events entirely led by Scottish BMX School through Commonwealth Games funding.

πŸ‘§ Introduced over 400 young people to BMX, with an incredible 46.7% female participation rate.

πŸ’Ό Created paid opportunities for six local BMX riders, investing directly back into Scotland's BMX community.

πŸ”₯ Opened the Kelvingrove Live Site with a BMX team demonstration.

πŸ‘‘ Even had the opportunity to perform for a member of the Royal Family... although we'll admit that one didn't quite go to plan! πŸ˜…

πŸš‡ Saw Scottish BMX School promoted across the Glasgow Subway network and beyond.

Perhaps the biggest achievement of all is what this partnership represents.

By working with one of the world's biggest sporting events, we've helped demonstrate that BMX deserves its place alongside more traditional sports. BMX isn't just about tricks it's about building confidence, resilience, creativity, fitness and a community where young people can thrive.

Thank you to the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games team for believing in what we do, and to everyone who came along, took part and supported BMX throughout the Games.

Please join us and our colleagues at the Commonwealth Games in wishing her a speedy recovery. Our sessions will still run over the weekend at Kelvingrove with a different coach. Get well soon Erin bro ❀️❀️

Last weekend we teamed up with to deliver our first ever female rider BMX jam.

This event was carried out by Erin & Amelie who did an amazing job.

To quote the parents of one of the participants "Excellent coaching, well organised, lovely staff, good bikes and equipment"

This was an awesome event & were are excited to expand our offering outside of our normal flatland focused teaching. Make sure to join us at Kelvingrove Park over the next two weekends & enjoy our events directly with the Commonwealth Games.
