Pictures from the, 'Interfaith Walk of Peace and Unity.' This walk represents for many hope and a road map to what are communities should be united in frendship and common shared values. Not scared of differences but recognising that we can all learn and be enriched by the other. The lyrics of Sham 69, 1978 hit are relevant more than ever and can be extended to everyone, "If the kids are united they will never be divided."

Terrific day of open, honest and powerful Interfaith Dialogue as almost 50 faith and belief representatives from across the country came together in a one day conference/ consultation facilitated by the Edinburgh Interfaith Association. The programme brought by the Woolf Institute Commission on Interfaith Relations asked faith leaders to discuss the impact of international conflicts on religious leadership and faith community and wider faith community relations. Participants were also asked to consider positive recommendations to support faith leaders and communities whose relations have become fractured as a consequence of overseas conflicts. The programme moved from the City Chambers to a tour of the Synagogue before closing with a group discussion. Thank you to the for inviting EIFA to host the only Scottish consultation programme. This was also a unique event in the first coming together of the Edinburgh Religious Leaders & Faith Representatives and the Scottish Religious Leaders Forum. We are grateful to Interfaith Scotland and their Interm Director Frances Hume for helping enable both groups to come together. We hope there will be opportunities for future such engagement.

The members of Edinburgh Interfaith Association are all deeply saddened by the senseless killing of Henry Nowak. As people of faith we believe that all life is sacred, and our thoughts and prayers are with Henry's family and friends at this time.

We support the sentiments of Henry's family, in that Henry's death is not used to spread division and hatred. The Sikh community is a peaceful and compassionate community that has contributed greatly to British and Scottish society. It is clear in the following statement by the Edinburgh Sikh community that they share in the sorrow brought about by the tragic loss of a young life, and are keen to see justice brought about through a fair and legal process.
