The Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce is Scotland’s capital city Chamber of Commerce. We are a completely independent business organisation who promote commerce and encourage inclusive growth in Edinburgh and beyond. Established by Royal Charter in 1876, we have been representing and influencing business in the city for over 230 years. We are a well connected organisation with strong relationships, respect and influence in the business community and amongst local and national politicians and other city stakeholders. While our focus remains on Edinburgh – on the improving our city’s economy, businesses and wellbeing – our influence and reach is far wider. Forming part of a global network of Chambers - we have connections throughout Scotland, the UK and internationally. We have over 1,000 members who represent a cross section of sectors and sizes – from sole traders to multi-national corporates. Yesterday, we brought together representatives from some of Scotland’s biggest parties to hear about their plans for business and the economy over the next five years.

In partnership with The Scotsman and Edinburgh Evening News we gave Edinburgh business leaders the opportunity to quiz our prospective MSPs on their plans for the next parliamentary term - from growth and skills to business rates, regional economic devolution, and international competitiveness - and to explore how our capital city can help drive future prosperity across Scotland.
