Great day on Saturday 8th of August. The William Purves Funeral Directors Invitation Triples. A fantastic day’s bowling and the weather was beautiful. Special thanks to our sponsors, to Malcolm Weir for organising, Gill Brown and the team for the catering and David Hudson and team for the bar.

A good week for the Club. On Monday our 1st XVI confirmed promotion with a 9-0 viccorty over Portobello at home. Our free week is tonight, and so we have to wait and watch the results to see who tops the league.

On Tuesday afternoon the SESBA top 9 won 5-2 against Merchiston. The aggregate secured by our pair of John Cameron and Ross Maguire. The rink survived a fighting comeback to win by one shot.

The 1st August saw the Gents’ Championship winner take on the Ladies Championship winner for the Bruntsfield Sports Cup.
Congratulations to Steven Kirk on his victory. Commiserations to Sandra Laidlaw, who was runner up.

We then had the Gents’ Top 12 taking on the Ladies’ Top 12 for the MacInnes Trophy. There were Pairs, Aussie Pairs, Triple and Rink making up the 12 aside.

The Gents prevailed in a good spirited competition.

Saturday 25th July was our gents’ Championship final congratulations to Steven Kirk on his victory on a very tricky, dry and unforgiving rink. Congratulations to Malcolm Weir for reaching the final, but commiserations that the record breaking 14 Championship win still eludes you

Wednesday 22nd July was our Ladies Championship Final. Congratulations Sandra Laidlaw on your first Championship. Commiserations Gill Brown - There is always next year!

It was billed as a garden party, but it was a gardening work party today. Recycled railway sleepers to create a new retaining wall - a Fox, Hughes and Waddell production with technical advice from Jim Moffat!

Huge thanks to the small but dedicated group who gave up their time today.

A great week for the Club. In addition to the SESBA top nine winning on Tuesday afternoon, the Edinburgh Top Ten Bowling Tourmanment team won on Tuesday evening - a great effort from all especially thoase who played both fixtures. This was followed up by the EBA XVI winning beating 3rd place Trinity. Well done all
