Been very very very quiet recently on the front but it’s all for good reason… My time in PureGym has came to the end.

Enjoyed every minute (actually maybe most) of my time there but I was running myself deep in to the ground (as well as other issues) and I couldn’t tell you the last time I trained with a bit meaning, being hit with covid didn’t help either and the passion and love for the gym was quickly disappearing.

It’s time to think about just myself for now, find that strong mindset towards training I once had and enjoy it again.

Have a look out and you may be seeing spamming, lots of spamming of gym videos again.. this time it’ll just be me though 👀

BETTER VERSION OF YOURSELF

Do you ever think to yourself, “How can I be better?”
Have you thought, “I am living my life this way but how can I make it better?”
Have you thought that you aren’t living up to your potential?

When I think about how to be a better person I turn inward and take a mental inventory about what I need to do for myself first. It all starts here – inside. I have to feel mentally and physically “good” before I can be better.

In order to feel your best, let’s try these important steps;

• DON’T DWELL ON PAST MISTAKES

Would’ve, should’ve, could’ve. Those words will eat you alive. Learn from the mistake, make it right – especially if anyone was affected, and move on. When you are stuck in the past it’s much more difficult to move forward.

• ALWAYS LEARN AND TRY NEW THINGS

Life is easier when you surround yourself with people who care about you and your success. Learn from others, it’s more fulfilling and takes less time.

• EATING HEALTHY IS KEY TO FEELING GREAT

Buy clean, healthy food and cook at home. Everything you put into your body has an effect – good or bad. How do you feel when you eat veggies, fruits and unprocessed foods? How do you feel after you eat pizza, drink beer or fizzy drinks, snack on chips, cookies and baked goods? The cleaner you eat – the better you will feel.

• EXERCISE CONSISTENTLY

Exercise gives you a great mental break from the day, it eases your stress and you will feel really good about getting that amazing workout in. It will lighten your life and you will feel better when you feel strong. If you can’t motivate yourself, find a challenge or create a goal that will motivate you. Working out with other people is a great motivator for and it’s much more fun.

👀 BENEFITS OF WEIGHTLIFTING 👀

Strength training is an important part of an overall fitness program.

So..

You want to reduce body fat, increase lean muscle mass and burn calories more efficiently?
Then it’s strength training to the rescue as strength training is a key component of overall health and fitness for everyone.

You'll increase the percentage of fat in your body if you don't do anything to replace the lean muscle you lose over time. Strength training can help you preserve and enhance your muscle mass at any age.

Strength training may also help you:

• Manage your weight. Strength training can help you manage or lose weight, and it can increase your metabolism to help you burn more calories.
• Enhance your quality of life Strength training may enhance your quality of life and improve your ability to do everyday activities. Building muscle also can contribute to better balance and may reduce your risk of falls. This can help you maintain independence as you age.

and that’s just to knock off 2 simple examples.

So where next and what options to consider:

• BODY WEIGHT. You can do many exercises with little or no equipment. Try pushups, pullups, planks and leg squats.
• WEIGHT MACHINES. Most fitness gyms offer various resistance machines. You can invest in weight machines for use at home, too.
• FREE WEIGHTS. Barbells and dumbbells are classic strength training tools. If you don't have weights at home, you can use various objects around the house.

💥 DETERMINATION 💥

Have you ever stopped to think about how your frame of mind is impacting your workout?

Answer these questions about yourself:

Are you at the end of your race or at the beginning?

Have you lost all of the weight you can or do you think you can lose more?

Do you believe your body image is as improved as it can be, or do you believe you can continue to improve?

Do you think you can’t do any more to help your body image or do you think you can always do more?

HOW DO YOU CHANGE YOUR MINDSET

The key to changing your mindset is to catch it, challenge it and change it, helping change all negative self-talk. Think of mindset as telling yourself something positive and motivating or something negative that holds you back. Yes, it’s a choice. your choice.

1. CATCH IT: Become aware of the voice telling you that exercise or weight loss are tests of your abilities, a success or failure experience, one that will make you look good or like a failure.

2. CHALLENGE IT: With mindfulness and attentiveness, ask, “Who says it is a measure of your abilities? What about it makes it a pass or fail experience?”

3. CHANGE IT: The voice you listen to, the voice you feed, will grow. Practice looking at a situation in both mindsets and feel the difference. Then decide… Choose the path that you feel stronger in and that is more motivating, more energising and more hopeful. Undoubtedly, it is the growth mindset.

Never give it up 🏆

💥 HEALTHIER AND HAPPIER YOU 💥

So why the outdoors?! 🏔

Fresh air, sun, trees. Nature is a magical thing, and some say it heals the body and mind, such as improving mood, boosting the immune system and increasing anti-cancer proteins.

Right now, in the age of COVID-19's self-distancing and orders to keep shelter, there's never been a better time, and bigger need, for the benefits of nature. That being said, combining nature with physical activity, it can help fight depression and anxiety.

Take these positives on board 🛫..

IMPROVING MOODS - There’s no question that nature makes us happy. Spend more time outdoors and the anxiety, depression and anger decreases with it.

IMPROVING FOCUS - Being outdoors allows our brains to take a break that mentally drains us.

REDUCES STRESS - Spending time walking the stress related hormones cortisol & adrenaline.

Never let anything stand in your way... even a tree 🌳
(Don’t tell me that’s a bad joke!) 😂

Have a strong start to the week champs 🏆

SELF-REFLECTION POSITIVITY 👀

Have you been working towards a big goal, like forming a healthy new habit?

It may be easy to forge ahead when things feel good, it’s just as common to have moments when you compare yourself to others.

Since knowing how to push the negative thoughts away, it’s key for keeping your motivation.

Here’s some major steps to keep the badness out of your self-reflection;

1. CHOOSE TUE RIGHT ENVIRONMENT.
Whatever the environment may be - the right environment can make a difference in the quality and vibe of your self-reflection.

2. REMEMBER THE THINGS YOU’VE DONE.
It’s our brains natural tendency to focus on the negatives and what we did wrong. But instead, balance this out with things you’ve done right.. it could be the simplest things like driving to work and back safely.

3. TRACK YOUR PROGRESS.
Grab your notepad, training diary, or even use your phone. When we work toward goals, it’s easy to see what you still need to do. This is valuable and motivates you to keep moving forward towards your wanted outcome.

4. LIST THINGS YOU APPRECIATE ABOUT YOURSELF.
With our brains wanting us to survive and improve, it’s there to see your own flaws, whether physical or mental.
List your qualities and let it help you achieve a healthy self-image and give you confidence you desire.

The more you value yourself, the more appropriative you become not only with your own life but everyone else’s.

Let me know your thoughts! 💭
