Same weight as the day he started. A totally different body.

When Dave began training with Ross, the goal Ross set him was one most people would balk at: train for a photoshoot. In his own words, he never thought he’d do it, let alone have fun doing it.

The scale reads the same today. What changed is everything underneath it. He’s stronger, and as he puts it, he has a totally different relationship with his body.

That’s what we mean by fat loss that sticks. Not a number you chase and lose, but body composition and a relationship with your body that lasts. Built patiently, coached properly.

If you want to start with a clear, honest picture of where you are, book a Movement MOT. Link in bio.

Most training happens in one plane of motion. Real life does not.

The loaded carry is one of the most honest tests of strength there is. You pick something heavy up and move with it while your whole body works to stay stable under tension. Carrying the shopping, lifting your kids, hauling a suitcase up the stairs. It is a skill we all use, and most of us never train on purpose.

Why it earns a place in your routine:

Full-body integration: it pulls multiple qualities together, so it gives a clear read on your overall strength.

Exposes weak links: because the whole body works at once, it shows up gaps in the chain that static lifts let you hide.

Grip strength: few things build and measure grip as simply as picking something heavy up and walking with it.

Everyday transfer: it maps straight onto the tasks you already do, from groceries to luggage.

Carry is one of the patterns we score in a Movement MOT, so you know exactly where you stand and what to build next. Link in bio.

If your hips feel stiff when you squat, get down to the floor, or twist to reach the back seat of the car, this one is worth a few minutes.

The 90-90 works the rotation your hips need but rarely get. Front leg and back leg both bent to 90 degrees, chest tall, then reach slowly forward over your front shin. Control the range, breathe, and switch sides.

It is one of the patterns we look at when we screen how someone moves, because hips that rotate well make almost everything else easier.

Save this and slot it into your warm-up this week.

Whether you’re rehabbing an injury, building strength, or just trying to move without pain, the principle is the same. Progressive, evidence-based movement is one of the most powerful things you can do for your long-term health.

That’s what every service at HBS is built around. Physio, PT, rehab classes — different entry points, same foundation.

Training hard but the results have stalled?

If you are consistent in the gym and still not seeing the changes you want, the issue usually is not effort. Consistency is the hardest part of any fitness journey, and you have already cracked it.

When progress flatlines, that is the signal to change the intervention, not to grind harder at the same one.

That is what an assessment is for. It sets a baseline of where you are right now, so you can see what is actually holding you back and which next step matters most. Clear direction instead of guesswork, and training you can enjoy again.

Book a Strength MOT and we will map your starting point. Link in bio.
