"As a lifetime Harry Potter fan I was pretty excited when I found out people were actually playing quidditch as a real sport and looked online to see if there was a team in Glasgow, where I live.
"There wasn't at the time so I tried to convince some friends that starting a team was a good idea. They weren't interested (despite my best efforts). So I put the idea on the back-burner and went about as normal, until, a year later while I was walking in Kelvingrove park I stumbled across a few people playing the sport! I joined in and got hooked instantly.
"Two weeks later I was off to Oxford to play for the recently formed Glasgow Grim Reapers at the first development cup and I have only gone up from there.
"The Reapers have been a fantastic team to play for and I've loved every second of it. And when I got the chance to try out for the Scottish Thistles I jumped at the opportunity, playing in such a professional league has been such an amazing experience and has definitely helped the people I know view quidditch as a proper sport. I am really looking forward to (hopefully) being on the thistles squad again next year!"
