HBG ANNOUNCEMENT
Brad Welsh opened Holyrood Boxing Gym on 11th November 2005. With a heavy heart, after 18 years, Brad’s gym will close on Thursday 14th December 2023.
Holyrood Boxing Gym surpassed many people’s expectations & the longevity of the gym without Brad over the last 4 and a half years has surpassed our own.
After much thought & consideration, we know this is the right decision.
Brad lives on in us all, no more than his wonderful daughter Eva. Now is the correct time for us all to continue his legacy in other ways.
Holyrood Boxing Gym is a special place, with special memories. For the last 4 and a half years it’s been the place I felt closest to Brad. It’s been the place for toy collections, food-bank collections, sell out boxing shows, hard work, positive change & making people feel better about themselves. Brad created the most amazing community within his Holyrood Boxing Gym.
We will do one last toy collection as a gym this year for Edinburgh Sick Kids Hospital. More details about this to come. Let’s make sure it’s the biggest and best yet!
A big thank you from us to Kev, Manny, Adam, Nick, Ollie, Ross, Krystian, Stuart, Jim & Gracie for what has been an outstanding effort but also an inspiring one. To the many that come & train, day after day, week after week. Thank you. We ask you all come, train like it’s your last & make some more memories.
HBG. Brad.
See you all soon

Edinburgh Council are planning to destroy the murals of Brad on Crawford Bridge (AKA Bridge of Doom).
These artworks must be preserved.
EdinburghDetours and Hibernian Football Club are offering to do a thorough community consultation for free. To save the murals and let the community decide what is added during the refurbishment.
Please support this initiative. Don’t let the Council vandalise the murals of Brad.
