U15 Girls Win Scottish National League!!

The Porty U15 girls finished their league campaign off in style with a 12v5 win over KKASC. There was plenty pool time for all the girls and it was particularly pleasing to see our youngest players growing in confidence in the water and even get on the score sheet. Our recent swim convert also found out water polo fitness is different to swim fitness! 🤽‍♀️💪
The Porty girls have gone undefeated this season and are deserving winners of the league 🏆

It has been a pleasure to coach this committed, hard working, & spirited, group of young water polo players, and to watch them improve both as individuals and as a team. Thank you girls for your commitment & enthusiasm, and to the parents for your ongoing support.

NDS U14 Win Tommy Kirk Cup!!

Huge congratulations to Porty players George, Igor, Matthew and Oliver and their Scotland U14 team mates who won the Tommy Kirk Cup in Belfast this weekend! Many thanks to the coaches Ruaridh and Kero, team manager Allison and parent helper Scott who made the trip possible for the boys. What an achievement.

Musselburgh Summer Fun Meet

A massive well done to our swimmers: Rudi, Nathan, Tabitha, Laura, Eleanor, Fraser, Arianna, Aria, Lilien and Katia!

In the morning, starting off in the 100 fly! Laura and Tabitha with amazing swims especially for their first time, Tabitha also collecting herself a bronze. Arianna with a 2sec PB taking a well deserved silver. In the 50 breaststroke, we had Eleanor and Nathan going sub 1 min and Lilien achieving a 6sec PB! In the 100 free, Tabitha, Laura, Katia and Arianna with some amazing PBs… I believe the swimmers had rockets attached to their feet! We also had Rudi earning himself gold. In the 50 back, Lilien taking a 4sec PB and Eleanor with a 2sec PB whilst Nathan added a bronze to the medal collection whilst we had Fraser starting off his a gold. Finishing the morning off the 100 IM, there was some fantastic PBs from all, Rudi and Fraser earning themselves a silver.

At lunch, we took a nice trip outside for some acrobatic land warm up… and watched the parade before rolling into the afternoon session ready for some more PBs and fantastic swims. Kicking off with 100 back! We had Aria with a 6sec PB, Tabitha and Rudi earning themselves well deserved golds. Nathan collecting himself a silver in the 50 fly! 100 breaststroke… wow! Aria with a 63sec PB, Arianna taking a 26sec PB whilst Laura and Tabitha earning just under 2sec PB. In the 50 free, amazing PBs from Lilien, Eleanor and Fraser who had went sub 40! Nathan earning himself a bronze.

We also had our two hot heat swimmers Rudi and Fraser!

Finishing the day off with some amazing relays! A big thank you to Musselburgh for having us.

Another big well done to the swimmers especially since it’s the last competition for the first half of the year… roll onto after summer!

U15 Boys Friendly against West Edinburgh Stingrays

U15 boys had a fun friendly with West Edinburgh Stingrays Water Polo at St Leonard’s Pool on Thursday night (while Porty Baths is being repaired). Thanks to the older boys for coming along to help make up the numbers for Stingrays!

Lothian Region Distance meet - day 2

Just Grace and Maebh but more than a worthwhile day!

Grace took a mere 44secs off her 800 free (!), but the pacing was superb. Held the splits and took the race by the scruff of the neck.

Maebh knocked in another solid PB in the 400 free. More to come with the pacing, but can’t deny a PB and a good day for both!

U17 Girls Scottish Cup Semi-Final

Our young Porty girls team entered this years u17 Scottish Cup fully aware of the challenge that lay ahead. While last night’s semi-final against Menziehill ended in defeat, this outstanding group of young players delivered a tremendous performance, showing huge determination throughout and proving they are more than capable of competing beyond their age group. Girls - you should be incredibly proud💪.

Thanks also to the family & friends who came to support and witness the progress of this great wee team. Good luck to all teams playing in the Scottish Cup finals this weekend.🤽‍♀️🤽‍♀️

Huge thanks to Neilson Rutherford for coaching the girls this year and for re-establishing a solid Porty girls squad. It will be exciting to see how the girls progress next season. Well done, all.

Congratulations to the Senior Men who have secured their place in the Scottish Cup Final against Dunfermline next weekend after a nail-biting 14-13 win against Stirling on Sunday. A special mention to Porty U17 player, Alex Hurd, who was selected for the team and made some excellent steals in the match.
