Mark & Alyson’s story began in 1986 on a graduate training scheme in London, and didn’t start with love at first sight.
Alyson once told her sister, “there was one guy I couldn’t stand… but I’ll probably end up marrying him.”
She did.
By the time they married on 23rd October 1993 at Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club, they were very much in love. They chose Dalmahoy for its setting and warmth, and it became the perfect backdrop for their wedding breakfast and celebrations.
Mark even played a round of golf with his future father-in-law the morning before the wedding, a calm moment before a day full of joy, laughter, and one unforgettable twist when the fire alarm went off mid-reception. What could have been disruption turned into one of their favourite memories.
Fast forward almost 33 years, and they returned.
Mark said, “It brought everything back. The grounds, the staff, the atmosphere… just as special as we remembered.”
Alyson added, “It felt like coming full circle.”
