From a piece of wood to a golfing legend. ⛳️
If you have played a round of golf at Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club before you may recognise our James Braid statue, but did you know it was created and carved by the brilliant members of our Gardening Team; Mark, Martin, Brian & Michael? Take a look behind the scenes of how they brought him to life.
James Braid is one of Scotland’s most renowned golf course architects, and his legacy lives on at Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club through our Championship East Course. Known as “The Beast”, the 18-hole course was designed by Braid to Championship standards and has hosted major events including the Solheim Cup, Scottish PGA Championship and Scottish Seniors Open.
Braid’s name can also be found in our James Braid Bar, where members and golfers can enjoy a morning roll and coffee before heading out onto the course.
A huge well done to Mark, Martin, Brian & Michael for their creativity, craftsmanship and all the effort that went into bringing this special piece to life. 👏
