The End of a Chapter From Alan

I’ve been trying to find the right words since yesterday, but I don’t think there are really enough to explain what the day meant to me.

A massive thank you to everyone who messaged me, spoke to me, checked in on me and shared the moment with me yesterday. Every single message and kind word meant more than you probably realise. ❤️

Yesterday was my last game of football, and even writing those words feels strange. Football has been such a huge part of my life for so many years. It’s given me some of the best memories I could ever have asked for, introduced me to some incredible people, and given me friendships and experiences that I’ll carry with me forever.

To finish my playing career by helping the team win our 5th league title honestly couldn’t have been written any better. 🏆

There have been plenty of ups and downs along the way — good days, bad days, celebrations, disappointments, injuries, arguments, laughs, and moments I’ll never forget. But through all of it, I’ve always been incredibly proud to pull on that shirt and be part of this club.

To my teammates, coaches, friends, family and everyone who has supported me throughout the years — thank you. You’ve all played a part in my journey, whether you realise it or not and to kerry ♥️ thank you for helping me though this part of the journey also you were missed yesterday.

Walking off the pitch yesterday knowing I wouldn’t be doing it again as a player was incredibly emotional. But looking around and seeing us celebrate another league title made it that little bit easier. There really couldn’t have been a better way for me to say goodbye to playing.

I’m not quite disappearing just yet though. I’ll be stepping into coaching for the remainder of the season, and I’ll give everything I have to help the boys finish the season as strongly as possible.

Then, when that time comes, I’ll finally take a step away from the club.

That part will be difficult. This place has been such a massive part of my life, and walking away from something that has meant so much to me won’t be easy. But I’ll leave knowing I gave it everything I had.

Five league titles. Countless memories. Some incredible people. One hell of a journey. 🏆❤️

A Message From Alan.

This weekend is going to be a pretty emotional one for me. I’ll be playing my final games of football In The League before stepping into a coaching role for the rest of the season, and then, after that, my time at the club will come to an end.

I’ve been thinking a lot about what football has given me over the years. The early mornings, the long journeys, the changing rooms, the laughs, the arguments, the wins, the defeats, the injuries, the celebrations — all of it.

So many memories and so many people who have played a part in my journey. It’s difficult knowing that I’m coming towards the end of something that has been such a huge part of my life.

There’s nothing quite like pulling on the boots, stepping onto the pitch and knowing you’re about to give everything alongside your teammates. I know I’m going to miss that more than I can probably put into words.

This weekend, I just want to take it all in. Every minute, every tackle, every pass, every laugh, every moment with the lads. I want to enjoy it, give everything I’ve got and walk off the pitch knowing I left nothing behind.

Football has been a massive part of who I am, and although my time as a player is coming to an end, I’m grateful that I get the chance to stay involved and experience the game from another side as a coach.

There will definitely be a few emotions when I finally hang the boots up for good. But I’ll always be thankful for the journey, the memories and everyone who has shared it with me.

One last weekend. One last time putting the boots on. ❤️
