“Coming back to my boyhood club to coach is very important to me. I came to Stew Mel Lions at 8 years old, and It’s the place I credit the most for being able to become a professional Rugby Player. Now it’s my turn to help bring this historic club back to the place it belongs.

Having been a pupil at Stewart’s Melville College, I played half a season at the club in 2017 before joining Edinburgh Rugby out of School. During this time in the professional game, I have had the experience of great coaches who have helped me outline what I think is needed from a great defence.

At the club, I want our defence to be aggressive, resilient, and committed to putting pressure on the teams that we play. Having been down towards the end of last year, I do not doubt that this group of players have it in them to have a successful season and make Inverleith a tough place to come and play.” - Connor Boyle
