What a way to finish the season for the Miners Clubs.
So yesterday our wee club hosted the Midlothian Miners Welfare Bowling Section Retired Miners Day. Thank you to Gilmerton Miners Welfare & Social Club for hosting.
After a 6hr shift prepping food on Tuesday for Denise & Yvonne, it was a 7am start for them both yesterday, 60 bowlers were treated to breakfast, lunch and a sit down meal in the evening. Everyone Denise spoke to at the end said they have had a fantastic day and couldn’t thank her, Yvonne and the staff enough. Thank you to Erin, Angela, Vicky, Chantelle, Morgan and Beth for keeping everyone fed and watered, and to Märgârĕt Mòrris for helping with dinner, young John-Paul in the kitchen and Malcolm for doing the raffle.
I think after Tuesday and yesterday both Denise and Yvonne were done in, but as always they go again today, bowls and wrinklies 😃.
