Meadows Croquet Club

Congratulations to Balgreen member Eoin McCrossan on his win at the Meadows GC C level on 8 August. Eoin played some fantastic shots, loads of great hoop running and consistent play throughout - he took home the cup, a gold medal and some Prosecco! Congrats also to Jill Black (runner up/silver medalist) who gave Eoin a close run and was only beaten on net hoops. Four clubs were represented, many thanks to the Meadows players who turned out and to players who travelled to support this established ranking event. Full results on croquet scores. It was a sterling Meadows team effort on Saturday - thanks especially to Jean Wood for being score checker. (always good practice to double check the numbers!) and to Martin for help with the hoops. Thanks also to Captain Kenny Po***ck who has gone above and beyond this season to ensure Meadows continues to offer a wide variety of competitions and tournaments .

World Team AC Champs are on 22-27 July. The Scotland Team for Tiers 2 and 3 Competition is:
Duncan Reeve, Lorna Dewar, Andrew Symonds, David Warhurst and Martin Murray (squad of 6 with any four selected to play)
Scotland holds the Tier 2.1 title - Lorna Dewar, former Meadows Captain, was in that winning team and the trophy is in our cabinet!. WCF Report here.
