This message from my client @ really made me smile because she’s told me before that while she loves her PT sessions, she sometimes found training on her own boring.
Ultimately I think enjoying the gym comes down to a few things…
A) Having a sense of purpose and progression - Working towards something that means something to you and seeing yourself getting closer to reaching it.
B) Feeling confident in what you’re doing - Making the gym no longer a place that you find intimidating and worried you’ll get wrong, but somewhere that you stride into with confidence
C) Feeling part of a community - Victoria has trained 1:1 with me for quite a while and then made the switch to my womens weightlifting group earlier this year. Obviously she’d had enough of having to spend an hour with just me once a week! Since she’s come into the group environment she’s absolutely thrived in being surrounded by others with similar goals and they all push each other!
Ultimately enjoying the gym is massive because you’re far more likely to actually stick to it, if it’s something you enjoy rather than dread or see as a chore 💪

Been a bit quiet on here the last couple of weeks...
No real excuse other than life has been very f*cking busy.
🏠 The house reno is in full swing (stripping wallpaper in my dreams now)
🍺 busy weekend down South then full weekend of pub crawls with the boys
🏋♂️ plenty of training
👨💼 lots of stuff going on with the business, some big client wins, plus a few that have had a tough few weeks and needed some help working through
Plus obvs gotta include some cat pics at the end 🤌🏻
Normal regular fitness content will resume this week 🫡

More movement = More energy 🔋
Nobody ever thinks of it when they first start training but it's actually one of the biggest cited benefits a few weeks after starting!
Push though those first few weeks and you'll feel more energised than you have the last 5 years!

If you're shying away from strengthening around your previous injuries you might not injure yourself in the gym
BUT
You will be way more likely to do it going about your daily life
Yes you have to be smart about it (deadlift 1RM with a bad back probs isn't the smart choice) but ignoring it is the biggest mistake you can do

"Either do something about my strength and mobility now, or suffer later"
That was the general motivation when Fiona started training with me last year.
Having never really done much strength training this was all new to her in terms of getting comfortable in the weights area, learning to lift effectively
Fast forward a few months and she definitely developed a bit of a reputation at the deadlift expert of my Wednesday womens weightlifting group!
She built a routine training 4x per week and was super consistent which helped her to get to the place where she was feeling stronger and more mobile than she had a for a long time.
Honestly proud of the work she put in!
If you're reading this and thinking "weights training isn't for me" or have that feeling that "you need to do something now" then use Fiona's experience as your sign to do it.
I've got an opportunity to win 2 months of coaching within my womens weightlifting group available this week, but entries are closing this Sunday so get on it fast!
Drop me a message and i'll send you the entry link!
