This weekend we have St Andrew Boat Club athletes represented in five crews across Henley Women’s Regatta in what we believe to be our largest ever entry to this event.

Hal Duke, former St Andrew BC junior rower and son of Trini and Tom, has died unexpectedly at the age of 28. We have many happy memories of him at the club and wanted to share some pictures of his time here. As a community, we are devastated by his loss.

The next part of our “Evening in Conversation With” series has been announced! Have you gotten your tickets yet?? This promises to be an interesting session, looking at how coaches train different groups of athletes, the balance between the physical and psychological, and how changes in the science behind our sport has impacted the way people coach.

An evening in conversation with star actor and Atlantic rower Cal MacAninch and his crew mates

St Andrew Boat Club is delighted to welcome Edinburgh-based actor Cal MacAninch and crew mates Matthew Callis and Alec Martin for an evening of inspiring insight into one of the greatest of all adventures - rowing the Atlantic. MacAninch, Callis and Martin, all based in Portobello, rowed from La Gomera to Antigua in 2023, part of the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge, and will share tales from their life-changing experience.

Come and listen, and ask them your questions, while also raising funds for our rowing club.

So proud to announce that our women's pair, Anna Fisher and Maia Hely, have been named CREW OF THE YEAR at the Scottish Rowing Awards 2024.

The judges highlighted their outstanding performance, despite only coming together relatively late in the season and juggling rowing alongside full-time work and being involved in the life of our club as volunteers.

Congratulations, Anna and Maia - very, very well deserved!

Scottish Argonauts WeHoRR Crew Announcement 📣

We are so excited and proud to officially introduce you to our Scottish Argonauts Crew for Women's Eights Head of the River which is taking place this afternoon. The girls (and Hugo) are starting 40th, the highest ever placing for a Scottish Argonauts Crew!

We look forward to cheering you on this afternoon, Good Luck!

Terrific weekend at WEHoRR with the crew turning in great performance and finishing 48th overall, winning the Challenge Pennant and finishing 3rd in Medium Club only missing out to London Rowing Club A and B boats. Thanks to for another fantastic event.
