The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the SDS Data, Research and Insights strategy. Ensuring the organisation collects, interprets, and uses data effectively to enhance decision making, demonstrate impact, support fundraising, and inform organisational strategies.

Part time: 18.75 hours per week

Scottish Disability Sport (SDS) are now welcoming nominations for the SDS Gordon Brown Memorial Trophy (Athletes' Athlete Award).✨

Being presented at the SDS Annual General Meeting and Presentation of Awards, this award is voted for by Scottish Para athletes actively involved at club and international levels.

Any performances of the athlete must have taken place between 8 September 2025 and 6 August 2026.

The closing date for nominations is 1st September 2026.

Scottish Disability sport (SDS), have an exciting opportunity for a Communications Manager to join the team.

The Communications Manager is a key member of the SDS staff team, who will work collaboratively with others to implement the SDS Strategic Plan. Responsibilities will centre on leading, developing and implementing an effective communication and public relations service for Scottish Disability Sport.

37.5 hours per week.

At the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, Scottish Disability Sport (SDS) were delighted to play a part in making the Games more accessible and inclusive for people with disabilities.✨

SDS are incredibly proud to contribute to making Glasgow 2026 not only the most inclusive Games across the velodrome, basketball courts, bowling green, swimming pool, athletics track and sports hall, but an inclusive experience for everyone attending.

As part of a wider team, SDS’s Young Persons’ Sports Panel (YPSP) supported Glasgow 2026 in reviewing its volunteer recruitment process to help ensure opportunities were accessible to people with disabilities.💙

SDS staff and partners also attended an accessibility day at Team Scotland House, reviewing the space and layout to ensure it was accessible for athletes, their families and other visitors with disabilities.

Representatives of SDS also helped assess the accessibility of venues and transport to and from them, helping ensure the Games could be enjoyed by all.

Sportscotland Team Scotland Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games

Thanks to National Lottery players, Access Sport will receive more than £3.5 million of life-changing funding over six years from The National Lottery Community Fund.

With this funding, Access Sport are joining Scottish Disability Sport (SDS), Disability Sport NI and Disability Sport Wales , to launch ‘From Sideline to Centre’!

A UK-wide initiative that will transform how sports clubs engage, empower, and support young people to become leaders in community sport.

“Young people know what works for them. This project gives us the chance not only to participate in sport but to help shape it.” – Wes Newman, National Youth Board
By 2032, the programme aims to:
➡️Empower 8,000 young leaders
➡️Transform 500 community clubs
➡️Support 80,000 young people across the UK

Together, we’re working across all four nations to build a more inclusive sporting system where young people are leaders, decision-makers and changemakers.

Participants with a disability aged 10 years and older, will be provided with an introduction into sports such as cycling, canoeing and sailing.⛵

Wheels to Water is about providing opportunities for people with a disability to try a range of new and exciting sports in a supportive, fun, inclusive and accessible setting, whilst learning more about the pathways in the sport that are available throughout Scotland.
