Our final mini-guide…some basic rules! 🐻

Quidditch is a mixed-gender, full-contact sport. The aim is to score as many points as possible before the snitch is caught. Only chasers can use the quaffle to score goals; all 3 hoops are worth 10 points each (note that goals can be made from either side of the hoops).

One-armed tackles on a player carrying a ball are legal, but contact must be below the shoulder and above the knee.
When a player is hit by a bludger, the player must dismount, run back to their team's hoops and touch back in.
The game only ends when the snitch has been caught - there is no time limit!

Introducing our next mini-guide to playing quidditch: the balls 💚🐻

The Quaffle: thrown through the hoops for 10 points, this ball resembles a semi-deflated volleyball and can only be picked up and used by the chasers and keepers.

The Snitch: worth 30 points, this ball is protected by the snitch runner, a neutral player wearing yellow shorts with a tennis ball attached, similar to a tail. It is the seekers’ aim to catch that tail to end the game.

The 3 Bludgers: thrown at other players by the beaters, these balls are soft and out of foam, and have the ability to knock players out of play temporarily until they touch back in.

Introducing our first mini-guide to playing quidditch: the players 💜🐻

Each team has 7 players. A keeper, a seeker, 3 chasers and 2 beaters. Players wear a coloured headband to identify their position.

All players need to remain on a broom throughout the game, unless they are knocked out by a bludger, in which case they have to touch back in.
