Our club is growing, evolving and celebrating - and we’re thrilled to share some huge updates with you.

🌪️ Introducing… the Moray Tornadoes!

We’re proud to unveil our brand‑new league team name: Moray Tornadoes.
A nod to the history of our rink and a former local SNL team, this name brings tradition, identity and a whole lot of energy back onto the ice.

👕 New Jersey Logo Revealed

Our Tornadoes will be hitting the ice in a fresh new jersey logo design - bold, modern and built to represent the spirit of our players. We can’t wait to see our teams wearing it with pride.

📈 Club Expansion: Now Including U16s

Moray Juniors is growing!
Alongside our existing U12 and U14 league teams, we’re excited to announce the launch of our U16 age group.
This expansion gives more young athletes the chance to continue to develop, compete and thrive within our club pathway.

The new season is almost here, and our first games will take place at Moray Leisure Centre on 12 September.

🇫🇮🏒 A Week of Development in Finland

What an amazing experience for some of our players and coach who took part in the Scottish Ice Hockey development camp at Vierumäki, Finland!

It was a week full of learning, teamwork, and new friendships - with everyone returning home inspired and motivated for the season ahead.

Huge thanks to Scottish Ice Hockey for organising such a brilliant programme and to all the coaches who made it possible.

At today’s training session, Reuben Robertson was presented with the Hislop Endeavour Award - a new honour created this year in memory of Anne Hislop, whose kindness, warmth, and unwavering support for young players left a lasting mark on our club.

Anne faced her own challenges with courage, yet she always found joy in getting out to the rink and watching her son, ‘her Kieran’ play. Her presence on the sidelines was a reminder of how powerful it is to show up, even on the hard days. This award reflects that spirit - recognising resilience, determination, and the strength to keep going.

Reuben has embodied those qualities wholeheartedly. After being diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes late last year, he has refused to let it hold him back. He continues to lace up his skates, put in the work, and show up with the same positivity we’ve always known him for.

A truly deserving recipient of an award built on courage, perseverance, and heart. Well done, Reuben 🏒💙

This afternoon reminded us exactly why we love this sport 🏒

Our Learn to Play, U10 and U12 players hit the ice for a brilliant xice tournament alongside friends from Aviemore Avalanche Junior IHC - public, Aberdeen Lynx Juniors and Inverness Highlanders Ice Hockey Club filling the rink with teamwork, laughter and plenty of great hockey.

Not to be outdone, our older players then laced up for a competitive in‑house game of their own, keeping the energy high right to the final buzzer.

Off the ice, families got involved too - with raffle tickets on sale for Alex Forbes’ generous donation of game‑worn kit from the Glasgow Clan. And of course, no Moray Juniors event is complete without pizza… every player left the rink smiling (and well fed!).

We also celebrated our U12 and U14 league teams with well‑deserved awards recognising their hard work and progress this season.

A packed, positive afternoon that showed exactly what makes this club special.

Moray v Lanarkshire

The Juniors came out with fire in their belly’s this game! They managed to battle their way through and had numerous shots with near misses! Holding Lanark off for more than half of the game! Ending with a 1️⃣-0️⃣ loss for us.

This marks the end of the journey for the u12 juniors but we could not be more proud of they way they carried themselves and held their heads high!

Moray v Murrayfield

Our Juniors went into the last game of the day feeling slightly disheartened but they bounced back quickly and came out with a 2️⃣-0️⃣ win!!!! This was just what our team needed to finished the day on a great note and ready to come back fighting tomorrow!

Next game is against Lanarkshire at 8:20 🏒
