🏉 A busy weekend with Cheshire U17s 🏉

After a very cold training night at Lymm RUFC on Friday night the team headed up to Keighley North Yorkshire to play Northumbria. It took them a while to get into the game but did manage the win in the end. 👏

Good luck to any players going to North England selection 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

⭐️SOME OF MY FAVOURITE GLUTE ACTIVATION EXERCISES AND WHY⭐️

My favourite glute activation exercises that I use to warm up prior to any lower limb rehab or sports specific exercise programmes💪🏽

A resistance band is my best friend as some of you may know! As it is many other Sports Therapists/Physiotherapists too😂

My reasoning for using these exercises as a warm up and activation are firstly, down to them firing up all 3 Gluteus muscles, they also equate to knee ligament strength and stability, meniscus function, hip flexor, quadriceps & hamstrings activation which are all major lower limb muscle groups.

☝🏼Warming these muscles up properly will allow more ROM (range of movement) and therefore increase the efficiency of your work out or rehab exercises.

The exercises I love include:

⁃ CLAMS
⁃ CRAB WALKS
⁃ GLUTE BRIDGES
(Might do some video demonstrations of these!)

Adding a resistance band to these exercises not only means the muscle groups stated above are contracting but also all of the muscles in your adductors & abductors! (Hips & thighs). This is important to maintain healthy mobility, strength and balance!

Overall these exercises isolate muscle groups and have them contracting with no additional weight meaning they are fully functional, maximising ROM and warmed up prior to starting your exercises or rehab. And that’s why I love them! 🙌👏

‼️What a long time coming‼️

We are nearly there everyone!!!🥳 Lockdown rules are lifting and after a long time coming we are now able to meet up with friends & family outside! Also organised outdoor sports can now go ahead which is BIG news as I know a lot of you have been waiting for this 🙌

We aren’t completely out of this fully just yet, but I want to say a massive thank you for all of your support during this tricky time and things can only get better from here👏🏼

Fingers crossed we stay on the right path and gyms opening will happen as planned on April 12th!🙏

Keep well everyone and I hope to see some of you returning to the sports you enjoy and love. Have fun! ⚽️🏑🏀⛳️🏉🏏🎾

Please have a look and sign if you are happy to🙏🏼

Petition: Grant food and drink wholesalers bespoke financial support Food and drink wholesalers are crucial to supplying hospitals, care homes and schools and are a lifeline for vulnerable communities. They are also integral to the post-pandemic economic restart. Despite this, they have been excluded from much Government support and face sector-wide closures.

‼️Knee to Wall Test‼️After working on ankle mobility for just over a week my client has seen amazing results in dorsiflexion! On the second picture you can see the original marker and the 1 week marker😱 If given the right treatment, exercises and stretches the results can be incredible for ROM at any joint...this is just an example at the ankle. We have a bit of work to do before the Right catches up with the Left but it’s a start💥Credit to the client for working hard on this over the last week👍🏽
