Super job all round from our puppy rebels this evening as we welcomed 3 new pupsters to our ranks with baby LeeLoo Ridgeback, Ethan Wildchild Whippet and Florence Springer all smashing it this evening … in fact Florence took the title!

Lots of work on freestack foot placement (front and rear) and controlling themselves on the run round. WHAT CLEVER PUPPIES!

What a cracking session this evening where we did LOTS of running and ramping up the fun level so the dogs enjoyed the experience with their favourite humans. We also concentrated on our presentation skills including smiling at our judge and drawing the eye to the parts of our dogs that we think are extra special.

Dog of the night was Ian’s Flatcoat Fagin who moved like he was flying 😎 well done everyone, next class two weeks’ time.

These are fab for training and catching attention. I always have a couple on my bag. Well made, the chirps, squeakers and reinforced squeakers are excellent - I’ve used all three options. The squeaks are great for training and the chirps are discreet enough for in the ring

Tonight in our GOOD CITIZEN TRAINING session we will be looking at emergency stops, lead walking and IMPULSE CONTROL!!! I’ll try to take video because I suspect we’ll have quite a laugh 😆

Welcome to our Ringcraft Rebels training session …. we are inviting all sizes along. This session will take place INSIDE in the DOG BARN so that we can focus on movement and handling with plenty of room without the worry of rain, wind or dark nights creeping in.

Tonight at Good Citizen class we'll be revisiting loose lead walking, recall, manners at a gate/door and starting a new skill of chin targeting to give consent to be examined. This skill is great for show dogs and pet dogs alike as it gives your dog confidence at the vet or in the show ring and stops wriggling and fear reactivity when they need to be checked over. In the bronze award YOU are the one doing the examining but in the silver it will be another person. Start with an easy chin target and move on to achieve co-operative care skills that give your dog the autonomy to say when they are too stressed to be touched.

For those coming to class tonight, you will need:

Fairly long lead
Treats
Toy
Fabric or saucer sized marker such as a container lid for targeting
