Now that the season has come to a close, we’ve got our final Player of the Match awards from our last Champs 1 weekend:

Game 1 vs Sheffield – Ellie
After our starting goalkeeper had to withdraw at the last minute due to injury, Ellie stepped up for her very first BWPL weekend. At just 14, she put in a fantastic performance, making some outstanding saves and keeping Caley competitive throughout the game.

Game 2 vs Tyldesley – Susan
Susan delivered another strong all-round performance, working tirelessly in both attack and defence—just as she has done consistently all season.

A brilliant way to round off the campaign—well done both! 👏🏻💙

That’s a wrap on the 25/26 season!

It might not have ended the way we wanted, but there’s still plenty to take from a positive weekend. Strong teamwork in both defence and attack kept us competitive throughout.

This season has shown what we’re capable of. Not only did we secure some great wins and re-qualify for Division 2, but we also proved we can compete with the top teams in Championship 1.

Now it’s time to rest, recover, and reset. We’ll be back stronger, sharper, and ready to go again next season.
💛💙

Last weekend the Caledonia women travelled down to Marlborough for the second weekend of champs 1. Unfortunately after facing 3 strong opponents we couldn’t come away with any wins. However lots of lessons have been learnt and we will be ready to go again in March 💙💛

Following a strong first weekend in the pool, we’d like to recognise our Players of the Match.

Game 1 vs Exeter
We have a joint player of the match for our first game of the year: Georgia and Holly.

Georgia played with confidence and composure from start to finish. She found and created multiple goal-scoring opportunities for the team.

Holly, brought speed and intensity in both attack and defence, and proving to be a real playmaker throughout.

Game 2 – vs Watford
Eve delivered a superb performance throughout, covering back tirelessly and executing pit defence perfectly.

💙💛🤽🏻‍♀️

A positive start for Caledonia Women down in Liverpool this weekend as we kicked off our first games of the Women’s Championship 1.

Our opening match saw Caley take on Exeter. In the previous meeting back in September, Exeter edged a 14–6 win, so we knew it would be a tough challenge. Caley started a little slow, finding ourselves 9–3 down midway through the second quarter. However, a big lift in energy and some strong defensive work saw us battle back into the game, drawing level at 15–15 with just 20 seconds remaining. Unfortunately, Exeter managed to sneak in a late goal to take the win.

The second game was against Division 1 side Watford and proved to be another close, exciting contest that could have gone either way. Caley started strongly and led 4–2 at half time. Watford responded well, levelling the score at 5–5 by the end of the third period. After some great goals at both ends, the match finished 8–8 and went to penalties. Despite some beautifully taken penalties and excellent saves from our goalkeeper Erin, it wasn’t quite enough to secure the two points.

There are plenty of positives to take from the first weekend of 2026, and the team will come back stronger, more confident, and ready to go again in February 💛💙💪🏻
