🏆 ELY HERO AWARDS – SPORTING CATEGORY WINNERS! 🏆

What a night! ❤️🦅

Last night we were incredibly proud to win the Ely Hero Award for the Sporting Category for setting up Little Thetford Eagles.

It was such a special evening and a real trip down memory lane, thinking back to why we started the club in the first place, the reasons behind it, the journey we’ve been on, and just how far it has come.

What started as a little idea has grown into something far bigger than we could ever have imagined, and seeing the impact the Eagles have had on so many children, families and the wider community makes us incredibly proud.

We’re especially proud to be able to call ourselves the founders of Little Thetford Eagles, something we created together as a little family, with plenty of hard work, love and dedication along the way. ❤️

To receive this award and have that journey recognised is something we’ll always treasure.

A massive thank you to all the incredible volunteers behind the Ely Hero Awards for putting together such a fantastic evening and for celebrating the amazing people and organisations within our community. It really was a special night. ❤️

⚽️ Duxford Tournament – U12s ⚽️

What a morning for our U12s! 🙌

We started the tournament a little slowly — definitely a case of the engines taking a while to warm up! 😂 But once they found their rhythm, they grew into a strong, competitive side, battling hard for every ball and never giving up.

The group stages brought a bit of everything — wins, draws and losses — but enough to see us through to the semi-final. 💪

The semi-final was an absolute battle against an extremely tough side. After another draw, it all came down to penalties… and unfortunately, it wasn’t our day in the shootout. 😞⚽️

But the determination, resilience and teamwork shown throughout that game was incredible. Every single player gave everything, and we couldn’t be prouder of them. ❤️👏

A massive shout-out to Isaac 🧤 who pulled off an amazing penalty save in the semi-final! Sadly, he picked up a minor injury in the process — proof that he was willing to put absolutely everything on the line for the team! What a save, what bravery! 💙

Plenty of positives to take away, lots to be proud of, and a reminder that this team certainly knows how to keep us all on the edge of our seats! 😂

Well done, U12s — you were brilliant! 👏⚽️💙

Day 2 – Cringleford Tournament ⚽🏆

After winning their final game yesterday and earning a place in the top tier for today, the boys knew they were in for a tough challenge.

They gave absolutely everything in every game, taking on some very strong opposition in the heat. Their opening match was outstanding and really set the tone for the day, with the team showing incredible determination, teamwork and resilience from the first whistle to the last.

Every single player was an absolute superstar this weekend. Each of them played their part, worked tirelessly for one another, and never stopped believing. Their commitment, attitude and desire to keep fighting made us all incredibly proud.

The boys battled their way through to the quarter-finals, where their tournament came to an end after a heartbreaking penalty shootout.

We head home with a trophy, plenty of achievements to celebrate, and the pride of being the only team to stop the tournament’s top side from continuing their winning streak. A fantastic accomplishment against such quality opposition.

Away from the football, it’s been a weekend full of hotel zombie hunting, swimming, endless Haribo, and the parents even managed to enjoy a relaxing evening together 🍻.

What a brilliant weekend making memories that will last a lifetime. Weekends like this are what grassroots football is all about. Friendships made, memories created, challenges overcome and smiles everywhere. So proud of every single one of the boys💙⚽🏆

Cringleford Tournament – Day 1 ✅🦅⚽

A fantastic first day at the Cringleford Tournament for our U11 Eagles!

The boys worked hard throughout the group stage, showing great attitude, teamwork and support for one another in every game. Their determination paid off as they won their final match during penalties securing their place in the Top Tier group for tomorrow’s matches.

Another trophy for the club cabinet is already secured, but the job isn’t finished yet!

Now it’s time to enjoy some well-earned fun, food, swimming and a night at the hotel before we go again tomorrow.

We’re incredibly proud of the way the boys represented the club today—playing with passion, encouraging each other every step of the way and never giving up.

A big shout out to our U11s who took part in today’s tournament at Histon! 🦅⚽ It looks like the Eagles had a fantastic day of football and fun.

Team Manager Jonny said:

“A fun morning of competitive football at the Histon tournament this morning. Lots of very close games and good football played. A special mention to our stand-in keeper, Bill, who was named Player of the Tournament!”

A huge congratulations to Bill on a well-deserved award, and well done to the whole team for representing the club so brilliantly. We’re proud of you all! 👏💙
