Most people come into personal training assuming a program is written once and then followed for weeks at a time. That’s pretty common, and in a lot of places it makes sense.

That isn’t how I coach.

At Foxhill, nothing is pre-written or reused. Training is rebuilt every week based on what actually happened in the last session, how you moved, what felt solid, what didn’t, and what needs addressing next. The work evolves as you do.

That level of attention tends to change more than just strength. People become more confident in their bodies and more comfortable handling physical and mental challenge, because the work is always appropriate to where they are right now.

You’re not following a system here. The system is built around you.

Why resistance matters more with age, not less

There’s a common belief that strength work is something you grow out of. That as you get older, you should slow down, take it easy, do less.

But the truth is, resistance becomes more valuable as the years go on.

From around midlife, we naturally start to lose muscle. It happens slowly, quietly, and it changes a lot more than just appearance. It affects balance, bone health, energy and independence.

The good news is, that loss can be slowed. Even reversed.

Regular resistance-based movement helps protect muscle, support joints and keep bones strong. It makes daily life easier. Carrying things. Getting up off the floor. Staying steady on your feet.

And it does not have to mean lifting heavy weights. It can be done in ways that feel good for your body. The aim is not to push hard. It is to stay capable.

Because movement is not a burden. It is how we keep hold of the life we love.
