A famous modern shrimp fly invented for the River Moy in County Mayo. This Salmon Treble fishing fly has proved extremely successful there and on many other Irish rivers. Try it out for your September and October salmon fishing.

Bann Special Shrimp (Silver Hook) This fly originated from the River Bann in Northern Ireland. It is probably the most fished, shrimp pattern in Ireland today and is successful all over the British Isles. It will work literally anywhere in all conditions for both fresh and resident fish. This version is tied on a silver treble and is very popular on the River Mourne and the River Moy.

The Ballina Grey Shrimp salmon fishing fly is part of a comprehensive range of classic shrimp patterns and hairwings, with modern variants tied on gold hooks. All flies tied on Esmond Drury treble hooks. Includes Moy Green Highlander Shrimp which was responsible for catching Ireland's largest salmon of recent years, a 32lb fish at Lifford bridge on the River Foyle.

The Sooty Olive Sedgehog (Trout) was a new sedgehog pattern in my range for 2022. This Irish trout fly has already successfully fished on Lough Sheelin Co. Cavan, Lough Mask Co. Mayo and Lough Erne Co Fermanagh. In 2024 I add a Size 8 to the trout fly as it is doing so well !

This is one of my most popular dabblers which can be fished right through the season. A very popular early season wet fly fly during March and April on the big Irish Loughs, fished on a team of three dabblers eg. with the Claret and the C**k Robin Dabbler or with the International Dabbler. It is also fished during the summer months for sea trout. A great all rounder.

Fish this trout fly singly dry, or on the top dropper in a team of wets. I first learned to tie this trout fly fishing pattern in lessons with Davy Wotton in Margate a long time ago! I have always liked the dressing and brought it back a few years ago. It is a very successful trout dry daddy pattern that will work anywhere.
