A client dropped me a message this morning asking what to order if she’s out for dinner or stuck with a takeaway, with something coming up in October she wants to feel good for.
Not panicking. Just genuinely wanting the right answer instead of guessing.
So I built her one 😎
A full mini training. 13 slides of pure value 🫡
Best takeaway options broken down, what to actually order at a restaurant, how to handle sauces and sides, and exactly how to track it without it becoming a stressful maths exercise.
I will send this to the entire group because if one person’s asking, five more are wondering the exact same thing and just haven’t said it yet.
This is the bit people don’t see when they think about what coaching actually is
It’s not a PDF you get on day one and never hear from me again.
Ask a genuine question inside this programme and you get a genuine, detailed answer. Not a generic “everything in moderation.”
An actual, useable training built around your actual question.
That’s the difference between information and support.
If you’ve ever wondered what it’s actually like inside this is it.
Drop VITAL in the comments or DMS and I’ll show you exactly what that looks like for you. 👇

A quiet walk by the river with the pram.
Nothing special about it.
Which is exactly the point of this post.
I coach people for a living.
Which somehow makes people assume I’ve got it all figured out.
❌I don’t. So here’s a reality check.
❌I don’t have motivation every single day.
Some mornings I genuinely don’t want to do the session either.
❌I don’t have endless energy.
Four kids will humble that idea very quickly.😄
❌I don’t always eat perfectly.
Some days it’s whatever’s fastest, same as you.
❌I don’t have all the answers.
I’ve got years of experience and I’m still learning things about my own body and my own patience.
❌I don’t always feel like a great parent, husband, or coach on the same day.
Some days I’m barely managing one of the three.
Here’s what I do have though.
✅A system simple enough to fall back on when motivation’s nowhere to be found.
✅Consistency built for the days I don’t feel like it, not just the days I do.
That’s the actual difference. Not perfection.
Just something that holds when you’re not at your best.
If you’ve been waiting to feel ready, or waiting to have it all figured out before you start you’re waiting for something that doesn’t exist.
Not for me.
Not for anyone.
Start anyway. Build the thing that holds you on the hard days.
Here if you want to see how that looks for you 😎

I thought being exhausted was just part of being a parent.
The early mornings.
The broken nights.
Getting the kids ready.
Work.
School runs.
Trying to keep everyone else sorted.
So when I felt shattered, I just accepted it.
“That’s parenting.”
But sometimes we blame our lifestyle when it’s actually some of the little things we’re doing every single day that are making it worse.
One of those for me?
Caffeine. ☕️
Coffee in the morning.
Another one or two when the energy dipped.
Maybe a Coke Zero later in the day.
Then I’d wonder why I was lying in bed at night, absolutely knackered but couldn’t switch off.
And here’s something worth knowing:
Caffeine has a half life of roughly 5–6 hours.
So that afternoon coffee you had because you were struggling to get through the day?
It can still be in your system hours later.
And when your sleep suffers, everything gets harder.
You’re more tired.
You have less energy.
You’re more likely to reach for quick, convenient food.
Your cravings can feel harder to manage.
You don’t feel like exercising.
And suddenly losing weight feels like another bloody battle.
I’m not saying coffee is the problem.
I love coffee. 😂
I’m saying it’s worth looking at the things you’ve convinced yourself are just “normal.”
Because being a busy parent is hard enough without unknowingly making it harder.
So here’s something simple to try:
Move your last caffeinated drink earlier in the day.
Nothing extreme.
Nothing complicated.
Just one small change.
And see if your sleep, energy and consistency improve.
Because this is what I believe about getting fitter as a busy parent:
You don’t need to do more.
You need to get better at the things that actually matter.
And that’s where the real progress starts.
What time is your last coffee of the day? 👇
