Hi everyone I’m pleased to say that both my Pilates classes are now full and I have people on a waiting list to join so I’ve decided to start a third Pilates class at 11am on Tuesdays in West Hill village Hall . Starting 7 January . So as we enter the New Year this could a great opportunity for you to experience the benefits of Pilates on your mental and physical health. Hello everyone, I’m now back at Aztec Studio , Torquay, Monday mornings , everyone whose attended the classes have said they feel it’s a safe clean environment with plenty of sanitisers, doors are wedged open so no need to touch , the hall fully complies with covid regulation. The numbers have been reduced to comply with social distancing . I have some spaces available in the 9.40 class, so if you would like to return to Pilates please message me. My zoom classes are still running, I’m happy to help you get set up with this alternative way of keeping up your Pilates strength, mobility and flexibility. Look forward to hearing from you 🤸🏽‍♂️👍😀

Hi everyone I’m now taking bookings for my first week back at Aztec, Monday 3 August, as I previously mentioned both classes will be same routine and will accommodate those who want to work at an easier or harder level. Numbers are limited and time set aside to clean studio in between sessions. Class 1- 9.40-10.40 , class 2 - 10.55-11.55 message me saying Class 1 or Class 2 to reserve your place . Hi everyone I’m pleased to announce my return to teaching Pilates at the Aztec studio in Torquay on Monday 3 August (6 months since my last class ☹️) The morning class times may change slightly to allow clean in between classes. Both classes will be the same routine but with plenty options for those who want to work at a higher level this will allow me to accommodate the busier second class. Initially no equipment will be used . Mats will 2 meters apart and sanitizer provided. Unfortunately you will have to book your place and I will have to charge non attendees and can only take on a first to book basis . I am so looking forward to seeing you all again, I’ll be in touch will final details a little closer . 🤸🏽‍♂️😊😊👍

I’d really like to thank all my clients that have been continuing their Pilates training with me via zoom during this lockdown period, we’ve worked our way though many workouts from strength and stretch, one weight workouts (some using water bottles) physio bands (some using a pair of tights) but together we’ve kept going. I’m really looking forward to getting back to my classes and seeing those of you that haven’t been doing zoom and I hope you’re all well. Once again huge thank you to you all for your continuing support, see you in my front room studio next week 😀👍🙏💋

Hi everyone, my focus in my next PILATES class is pelvic stability. The pelvis is the boney structure which attaches to the spine via the sacroiliac joint and thigh bone via acetabulum joint it’s main job is to transfer weight from upper body to lower body and provide attachment for the muscles connecting spine to pelvis and femour (thigh bone) to pelvis It protects lower body organs too. Muscle imbalances around the hip area can greatly affect the back , knees and ankles. Imbalances can be caused by sitting too much, occuption, repetitive movement, poor training methods, excessive stretching or strengthening. Eg. If your gluts (buttocks) are too tight when you try to bend forward (flexion)from the hip, the tightness will restrict the movement from the hips forcing the spine to carry all the workload. If hip flexor muscles too tight the pelvis may tilt forward, then putting the lumbar spine into excessive extension (arching ) . This is just one simple example. These misalignments can exacerbate arthritic problems as they greatly affect the joints. The pelvis is a attachment sight for loads of muscles and in my workout I’m going to work on both strengthening and stretching and attempt to help you become aware of your imbalances, feel and understand the relevance of maintaining good muscle balance around this complex area. This will run Monday 10.45 , Tuesday and Thursday 10am . See you in class 👍

Hi everyone, it’s been about 10 weeks now since I personally taught my classes. Many of you are joining me for my virtual classes. It is still so uncertain when the classes will return to normal, so with this message come a little encouragement to join me virtually. I’ll always keep the exercises simple to follow and the routines are loaded with verbal queuing. I can see you during these sessions and as I would in class will point out adjustments you may need to make . The process is really simple with zoom and I can send you the link and help you get set up. So why not drop me a message and for now join my virtual Pilates classes 😀xx

Hi everyone, I need a little help, after declining to give my well established Pilates class to the Torbay Leisure Centre I now been asked to leave, so am desperately seeking a new venue to replace my Wednesday 9.30am class, if anyone knows of a suitable venue please get back to me, ideally as central as possible with parking. I am also hoping my long term clients will want to come with me, let me know your thoughts. I am at present making many calls to church halls but not had much luck so far. Many thanks 🙏, no happy face emoji as I’m very upset after being there for about 8-10 years self employed and working for them for at least 10 prior to that .
