Just a few of the moments from the last ten years of Yoga Babies. Not many photos from the preceding ten years (!), but I’ll try to dig some out
Yoga Babies
Yoga for babies, toddlers, children and their grown ups
Baby yoga helps to reinforce and nurture your baby's natural development and provides a quiet space for you both to spend time together without distractions. The classes offer a set of practical techniques to help calm crying babies, ease colic and promote sleep. There is some gentle yoga, followed by baby yoga, relaxed holding and calming techniques and relaxation at the end of the class.

Some memories from the years of Yoga Babies and a new course starting next week.
It’s been 20 years since I started Yoga Babies and it’s run more or less continuously over that time, thanks to you and your babies. As I’ve been out of action a lot over the past year or so, in a very slow recovery from a sudden, unexplained brain haemorrhage, I thought it would be good to reintroduce myself and show you a little of what the sessions involved.
Yoga Babies is all about nurturing you and your babies, with gentle, nourishing yoga, suitable for whether you have a postnatal body or not, relaxed breathing techniques, grounding meditation and stretches, songs and techniques you can use with your babies. These range from turning them upside down to using vibration to soothe their nervous systems.
I bring a range of approaches, my trainings in perinatal yoga, teaching, hatha yoga teaching, meditation and sound training, with a trauma-informed and inclusive approach.
They’re open to all babies and their grown ups, to all types of families and parents to enjoy sone bonding time with their babies in a supportive, non-judgemental environment.
And there are many songs which you can’t find anywhere else, because they’re the originals. If that doesn’t draw in the crowds, I don’t know what will! 🤦🏻♀️
If you’ve got this far and know anyone who might enjoy these sessions, please do share.

If you’re looking for something to do today before the rain starts (🤞), this is one of the activities on at Park Life Heavitree today. It’s a taster Park Yoga session aimed at parents, so babies and children are welcome. It’s followed by a Teddy Bears’ picnic in the park. Paddling pools are open and there are plenty of beautiful trees to sit under. I’ll be here at 10.15 and there’s no need to book. Just bring a mat, towel or blanket for a moment of stretching, movement and relaxation.

This is on tomorrow morning and it’s completely free! No need to book. If it’s a little bit rainy, we’ll be under a tree! Hope to see you there 😊

I’m very excited to be collaborating with Emma Ossian-Pingleton, on a new creative writing workshop session for parents and carers at The Baby Room, on Monday 21st July, from 1.30-2.45pm. The cost is just £4 to cover the room hire and materials. The aim is to create a supportive space where you can come and do some creative writing, whether you’re a complete beginner or seasoned writer. We’ll provide a variety of flexible writing prompts for you and toys for your little ones. There’ll be opportunities to share what you’ve written, but no pressure to share either. So whether you’ve always wanted to try creative writing or are struggling to do anything creative with the demands of parenting, everyone is welcome. To book, please get in touch on here, or email [email protected]

As some of you will know, I’ve been off work for the last six months, recovering from a carotid artery dissection and a haemorrhagic stroke. I’m just starting to get back to some teaching and I’ve missed the babies so much.
I will no longer be teaching at the Exeter Yoga Workshop, where I’ve run Yoga Babies classes for many years. They are running their own classes with a different teacher. So, I’m going to run some sessions from my home studio in Heavitree. They’re small groups of six babies and their grown ups and the first course will be in July, four Tuesday mornings, 10.30-11.30, starting on 1st July. The cost for the course is £32. There are about three spaces left and if I sell out, I’ll probably run another class on a different morning.
I’ve been running these classes for twenty years, in different locations and I’m so grateful to have shared them with so many of you. All the baby yoga stretches and songs are original, tried and tested on my own babies. If you’ve been to my classes and enjoyed them, please share with anyone you know who might be interested. Thank you so much for your support over the years 💜
