A huge congratulations to Thomas on an incredible weekend between the sticks! 🧤🏆
Representing his team at the Tedburn St Mary Tournament, Thomas helped guide his side to tournament victory with an outstanding series of performances. Across the entire competition, he recorded 6 clean sheets, conceded just 3 goals and stepped up when it mattered most by saving 2 penalties in both the semi-final and final shootouts to help secure the trophy ✨
Facing strong opposition including teams from Torquay, Exmouth, Totnes and Dartington, Thomas earned praise from coaches throughout the tournament for his performances, composure and goalkeeping quality.
Success like this doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built through consistent effort, a willingness to learn, and the commitment Thomas shows week after week in training. We’re delighted to see his hard work being rewarded on the pitch and can’t wait to see what comes next! 👏⚽️

🚨 FROM U9s TO U18s… THE FUTURE OF EXETER CITY’S GOALKEEPING PATHWAY ALL IN ONE SESSION 🚨
One of the standout moments from last week’s pre-season preparation sessions was seeing both ends of Exeter City’s Academy represented at GKDC.
On one side, we had an Under-9 goalkeeper putting in the work, developing the foundations of their game and embracing every challenge. On the other, Exeter City’s Under-18 goalkeeper Sam joined us as a guest coach, sharing his experiences and helping support the next generation coming through, before training with us in our adult session.
It’s a brilliant reminder of what the goalkeeper journey can look like, and a fantastic example for our young keepers to see first-hand.
The sessions themselves were excellent, with both our youth and adult goalkeepers continuing their pre-season preparations in hot but manageable conditions, showing fantastic effort, energy and commitment throughout. ☀️🧤⚽
Unfortunately, for the first time in GKDC history, we had to cancel Thursday’s session due to the extreme heatwave. We’re all for off-season training and conditioning, but player welfare always comes first, and this week’s temperatures are simply too much.
We’re gutted we couldn’t get on the grass this Thursday, but we’re already looking forward to getting everyone back together as soon as conditions allow.
