Thank you to everyone who has supported the race and entered over the last few weeks. We have 20 places left (as of Monday) with only 3 more days to enter. So, if you were thinking of testing out your fitness or chasing a new PB, then this is the perfect opportunity to do so! A fast, flat 10k.

Your place in the race will automatically be transferred to the new date unless you action the link in the email. Please note that all refund requests must be made before 31st January.

As places potentially become available we will be opening up spots for anyone who doesn’t currently have a place and we will keep you posted about this over the course of the week.

📣 RACE UPDATE! 📣

📣 Thank you for your patience! After a week of planning and preparation we have been given a second chance at the First Chance 10k! 📣

The race will now take place on Sunday 15th February 2026. Same time, same place, same course, same energy!

Email communication will be sent on Monday offering you the chance to move your place to the new date as well as other options for those who can’t make the date.

We really hope to see you all there because everything deserves a second chance right?…

⚠️ EVENT CANCELLED ⚠️

⚠️ Unfortunately we have had to cancel the First Chance 10k ⚠️

This has been a very difficult decision. However, the safety of our participants and volunteers is paramount.

After a walk through of the course this afternoon there were sections still covered in ice and unsafe to run on.

We plan to reschedule the race, so please keep an eye on your emails over the next week for more information.

We are keeping an eye on the weather for Sunday and conditions are looking cold. With this in mind please plan ahead and keep warm. We are preparing to grit the course in parts that may become icy (if we have any rain over the next two days)

The first 2 races of the Instep Devon Championship series are the First Chance 10k and Oh My Obelisk Half Marathon. More races will be added to our website soon. All the winners of the 2025 race series are listed below. The awards will be presented after the First Chance 10K South West Road Runners Tiverton Harriers Dawlish Coasters Exmouth Harriers Honiton Running Club.
