Kenpo is a form of mind body education, because mind and body form a symbiotic circle. The unity of mind and body should be seen as a natural goal, to link together the habitual habits of both. Habits of the mind and the body are inextricably interlinked and together form a singular operating function.

Volitional attention to movement is the first critical component to become aware of, before any movement can be adjusted. Slow and accurate movement is the key to awareness, awareness is the first step to learning and a person’s ability to affect changes in habitual movement.
