That’s us wrapped up for this year, as tonight was our last session of 2025! It’s been a fantastic year, with our students coming along in leaps and bounds. So, what’s happening next year at the Lodge?
We will open our doors at St Mary Arches church again on the 8th of January, at the usual time of 7PM. But if you cannot wait that long, we will also be starting our Wrestling and Dagger lessons at Union Jiu-Jitsu Academy on the 6th of January at 5PM in their new venue on Paris Street!
On Thursday the 15th of January, we shall be hosting a beginners Longsword session for those who are interested in picking up HEMA for the first time, or just fancy trying something a bit different for a night!
For the rest of the year, we will be exploring a whole host of weaponry; Poleaxes, spears, lances, sword and buckler, and more!
2026 is the perfect year to join us, and we are all excited to see you! But until then, Happy Holidays to you all from the Exeter Fencing Lodge!
See you next year!

Starting on the 6th of January 2026, we shall be commencing our Wrestling and Dagger sessions!
These sessions will be held at Union Jiu-Jitsu Academy on Paris Street, Exeter every Tuesday!
We’ll be kicking things off with wrestling techniques from Italian fencing master, Fiore dei Liberi, and his manual “The Flower of Battle” from the 15th Century.
Hopefully we shall see you there!
Our captain took a trip to the Exeter Chapter of the Order of the Blade, and got to fence the Chapter Master with armoured sword! A great time was had, and the rest of the Lodge will be making a trip soon!
Thanks for having him, Exeter Chapter! We’ll see you again!
