👀 Look!! 😍😍😍. Exmouth has signed up to the Plantbased Treaty! WOW 😮.

Asking Governments to negotiate an international Plant Based Treaty as a companion to the UNFCCC Paris Agreement.

Those endorsing have 3 main objectives:-

Relinquish
No land use change, ecosystem degradation or deforestation for animal agriculture.

Redirect
An active transition away from animal-based food systems to plant-based systems.

Restore
Actively restoring key ecosystems, particularly restoring forests and rewilding landscapes

This endorsement is undoubtedly down to our new amazing Climate Change Officer, Zoey Cooper!

This post is dedicated to all the people out there that are 11 days into Veganuary and think that supermarket ‘cheeses’ are the best it’s going to get 🫡 we’ve all been there!

Basically, you haven’t started your cheesy journey until you’ve tried some of the incredible makers we stock! (Is this a shameless plug? Absolutely, but we pride ourselves in selling products that we really believe in, and these are all corkers!)

Artisanal nut based cheeses, melty Mozzarella style and even nut-free Blues cultured with real Roquefort cultures, you need to try them to believe them 🧀✨🌿

After the 5th request about the 3rd December market, it’s time we told you our news.

Unfortunately the 3rd December market at Ocean is cancelled.

Lately it has been really challenging to find vegan food traders. Our summer fair was great! but people would have noticed the lack of vegan food.

Covid had a huge effect on small businesses, and also at the same time (whilst very welcoming!) vegan food became available everywhere - this sadly brought further challenges and many have had to close.

It’s not just us, we hear of other vegan markets experiencing challenges too.

We are proud of the impact we know we have had in introducing people to vegan food. And, along with our Traders, we know we have influenced local restaurants too.

But this isn’t goodbye. We are just assessing how to continue in some way with our eco ethos - and we promise to let you know the outcome as soon as we know.

Thank you to each and every person that has ever attended one of our markets. Thank you to all our fab traders. And thank you most of all to all those vegan traders who may not have made it through, but who paved the way to make vegan food trendy 👏❤️👏.

We borrowed all these items for our Vegan-Eco Fair last Saturday. For FREE!

The Library of Things is run by super helpful volunteers, who just came up with a fantastic idea, and got together and made it happen.

And they can’t do enough to help you either 🙏💚.

They now have over 200 items that can be borrowed! Rather than buying more things. .
