🏏 Sunday Colts Round up
U12 Tier 1
Cullompton U12 59 All Out 13.4
Exmouth U12 61/4 (14.2)
A first win in Tier 1 👌
Rudy started the bowling, steaming in like the adjacent trains. He set the tone early in his 3 overs taking 3 wickets, well done Rudy 👌 Laurie backed him up with a wicket at the other end although there was still work to do to get their two stronger batsmen out. Skipper Laurie called up the Spin Kings Louis & Leo 👑 who then removed the key batsmen, Louis ending with 3 wickets and 1 for Leo. Albert had a strong debut with the ball along with his brother Charlie. James clean bowled the last batsmen and Cullompton had set a modest total.
Cullompton started their bowling well, removing an opener with the first ball of the day. Harry steadied the ship nicely with Ben to ensure wickets were intact and the runs were knocked off with just over 5 overs left by Louis (14 no) and Archie. Leo hit a big maximum that just missed carriage B 🚂
U13 Girls v Culmstock
A nice overcast and cool morning for cricket on our home pitch. Culmstock won the toss and elected to field. Exmouth started well with the bat, with a flurry of 4s on a lightning outfield. The solid batting continued all through the team, only losing 3 wickets in our innings, and one of those was to an excellent one handed catch by the Culmstock bowler. Overall an excellent batting display by the girls posting a good score of 282.
Our turn to bowl and the girls worked hard to limit Culmstocks scoring, they had some solid batters but we were taking regular wickets which reduced their score. Some excellent bowling by Exmouth towards the end of the innings meant we took the win by 13 runs. ECC 282 - 269 Culmstock.
All the girls showed some excellent fielding and backing up.
The girls should be very proud to chalk up 2 wins from 2 matches this season. Well done girls! 💥🏏💥🏏💥
