Proud doesn’t even begin to cover it.
The pressure is always on during these fixtures. Last year was ours and this year was theirs. Well played to Withy, they wanted it more today and that was evident from the start.
Getting 23 players on the pitch each week is always a challenge as a coach — but that’s the reality of being a good club that people want to be part of. Today we had new players step up, and one of them even earned Man of the Match. That says everything about the spirit in this group. The coaches, the parents and the players make me feel extremely fortunate to be a part of this team.
We’ll remember today’s score, not as a setback but as motivation. We’ll use it to grow — as players and as people. And although we prioritise mates and memories over results, we still always aim to win. However, we don’t always win in life, and learning how to lose is part of learning how to win.
Heads up, chests out. We go again next week. 💜🖤🤍

🏉🍽️ Sundays at the Clubhouse 🍽️🏉
Train hard ➡️ eat harder.
🍲 The kids get a free hot meal (because we all know they’ve burnt through breakfast by 10am).
🍻The parents get a bar (because sometimes watching them tackle is thirsty work).
🧑🍳 And every now and then, we all take a turn on kitchen duty – don’t worry, it’s nothing MasterChef level… just smile, stir, and serve!
It’s rugby. It’s food. It’s friends. It’s the good stuff. 💜🤍🖤
