I can’t make them fast enough . All I can say is thank you for choosing old fabric rather than going to new neoprene products . All of my hats are 100% old wetsuits . I’ve got into patchwork with this batch ! Just to maximise the colours !!

This is the stock of Ruthie Roo swimbobble hats I have available to buy now . If you missed out on the Bournemouth swim festival don’t worry , you can still buy your winter head warmer , hair keeper dry, slightly unusual totally upcycled old wetsuit swimbobble hat .
They don’t go soggy and fall off in waves , they stay warm and dry .

Each hat is hand made in my little sail loft at Burnham Overy in North Norfolk . I’ve been making these hats for three years now and have repurposed literally hundreds of wetsuits which otherwise would have ended up in landfill .
First hat in a single order is £20 , all subsequent hats are £15.

Sadly no Swimming festival today in Bournemouth. I don’t envy the teams who organise these events which are so totally weather dependant . It is so heartbreaking having to make these cancellation calls . But , it’s better that they do and keep us swimmers all safe .

Anyway , I was down here in the new forest before the call was made , so instead of trading we went and supported the Lymington market . What a cool market ! We found some beautiful crafted items , some amazing cheeses and bread and then this incredible book stall .

Lymington was her first market and we were her first customers .

All hats are made from old wetsuits , they’ve been washed , chopped up and restyled so that no two swimblers can ever turn up for a chilly dip and encounter someone else sporting the same hat !
