Gairdoch United FC - 2012’s Golds

Boys won 4-3 against a decent Stenny team. The scoreline doesn’t reflect the way the game went, with a totally dominant performance from the boys from start to finish. On another day, we double the amount of goals we scored!

Down to the bare bones with 3 players missing due to injuries, the boys worked their socks off and blew the other team away at times. An excellent start to our league season, and with more performances like that, we will be tough to beat!

Looking forward now to Scottish Cup weekend next week. Well done, boys! 💛

⭐️ Man of the Match – Mason Walls

Today was one of the best individual performances I’ve seen at this level. Playing in a more advanced area of the pitch than he’s used to, Mason terrorised the opposition for more or less the full 80 minutes and capped it off with a superb goal and a couple of assists.

An excellent performance and a really well deserved Man of the Match. Well done, Mason! 👏🏻

After securing our place in the League Cup semi-finals, our attention now turns to the CSFA A Division as we get our league campaign underway tomorrow at home to Stenhousemuir FC.

The boys marched into the semi-final of the League Cup! After a hard fought 1-1 draw in normal time in a game of two halves, it went to a nerve wracking penalty shootout where it was winner takes all for the last remaining semi-final slot.

After Niall saved a penalty, he then stepped up to score and send us into the semi final! The boys have been brilliant throughout the group games and deserve their chance to hopefully go on and reach the final as well.

Unlucky to On The Ball, a good side themselves, and good luck to them for the season ahead.

⭐️ Man of the Match could have been any of the back four, who were solid for all of the 80 minutes, but one boy just back from injury stood out the most.

At times he was physical, vocal and cleared every bit of danger that came near our box, while also stopping the other team’s main threat for most of the game.

So Arran Anderson was a very well deserved Man of the Match. A great signing for the club since he came in during pre-season. Superb Arran and well done 👏🏻

Boys secured another 3pts in our League Cup group section with a victory over West Park last night. Sailed into a 2 goal lead but then took the foot off the gas! Credit to the other team who made more of a game of it in the 2nd half, but we seen out the game well and a comfortable win in the end. Onwards and upwards to our last game of the group on Saturday to try secure a semi-final spot. ⚽💛

Back in League Cup action tomorrow night as we welcome West Park United to Gairdoch Park.

Boys bounced back in style from the narrow defeat last midweek, where not taking our chances cost us dearly at the end of the match!

There was no question of that being the case on Saturday. From the first minute to the last, the boys kept their foot on the pedal and ran out convincing winners away to BSC Glasgow.

Credit to the other team, who never gave up for the full 80 minutes, but our boys were unstoppable at times, moving the ball quickly, getting in behind and scoring some cracking goals.

A great win and a result that keeps us in contention to qualify for the semi final of the League Cup. Onwards and upwards to another midweek game!
