The Yachting Monthly Triangle Race starts tomorrow 31st May.
It began last night at the Musto Store where everyone was treated to a free drink and a fantastic talk from Mik Underwood taking in his years of experience doing the race and some very funny anecdotes along the way.
The Skippers Briefing happens this evening at the The Royal Cornwall Yacht Club and then they will be off tomorrow on their first leg to Kinsale. From there they set off to Tteguuer where they will go past the infamous Fastnet Rock and in all will be covering 600 nautical miles, some single handed! An incredible challenge.

DMS once again joins forces with ocean adventurer and offshore racer Pete Goss MBE, who ran a successful sailing campaign with DMS in 2010 and will be our captain, alongside our head-honcho Dave Summers.
In 2027 Pete and Dave will tackle the two-handed Azores & Back race (AZAB), run by the The Royal Cornwall Yacht Club in Falmouth, a legendary ocean race of 2400 miles along with the Round Britain and Ireland Race plus plenty more challenges to be confirmed.

Mervyn Wheatley is the guest speaker at the RCYC Men's Dinner on Saturday 25th April (all welcome), he competed in most of the AZABs since 1975 as well as in several OSTARS, in the last of which he suffered a serious lockdown and was rescued by the Queen Mary ll, a salty tale to which he will no doubt refer in his speech.
The dinner is open to all (men) but please book quickly to secure your place. More details of menu, cost and dress code and booking details here.
