Spent a day with Sustainable Product Design students doing tear-downs of electrical items. Shown here are a toaster and a coffee machine. The takeaway? Most of the appliances are a long way from circular - not realistically repairable, not recyclable - event if you spend hours taking it apart.

Took one of our SurveyTag microclimate air temperature loggers for a swim this morning.
Fairly predictable results:
Bed was warm and dry.
Sea was 17 degrees colder than bed and wet.
Air temperature was 27 times colder than bed.
Beach was covered in frost.

Nice to see the ‘blue border’ planting around our Root Dome nicely established three years on.
We made the using an experimental fabric formed concrete process to mimic the physics of all cell based life forms. The result is a structure that looks organic. The Root Dome is inspired by fungal mycelium and is the soil part of Eden’s Invisible Worlds exhibition.
