HALL of FAME
Class of December 2024
PETE BULL
Congratulations to Pete Bull on his induction into the Delinquents Hall of Fame! This prestigious recognition celebrates Pete’s exceptional service and dedication to the sport of domestic wheelchair basketball, where his influence has been both profound and lasting.
Pete’s journey in wheelchair basketball began in 1984, progressing to the national league by 1990. He quickly became known for his natural coaching ability, first at South Coast Rollers, and later with Blackhawks and Southern Sharks. Through his leadership, he grew these teams from just a handful of players to multiple competitive squads across various divisions, proving his skill at building both teams and community.
A passionate advocate for junior development, Pete has been a driving force in nurturing young talent. His coaching style is firm yet supportive, instilling discipline, confidence, and valuable life skills in his players. His work with players like Joy Haizelden, whom he introduced to the game at age 13, highlights his talent for spotting potential and guiding young athletes toward success.
Pete has also been a strong advocate for the women’s game, ensuring equal respect and opportunity for female players. His coaching has produced several Great Britain players, and his commitment to gender equality has set a standard in the sport. His teams have always benefited from the hard work and leadership of female players, whom he holds in the highest regard.
Once again, congratulations, Pete. Your tireless work, commitment to developing young players, and efforts to grow wheelchair basketball have earned you a well-deserved place in the Hall of Fame. Thank you for all you've done to shape the sport and inspire those who follow in your footsteps.
