Okinawan Karate and Kobudo Association

Spent last night's lesson tearing apart Gekisai kata, looking at interpretations of moves and having students come up with their own ideas. There were some really good thoughts in there.

Rocking the lovely orange jumpsuit @ Down Range Axe Throwing. Totally destroyed lots of inanimate objects then did a spot of axe throwing. Shihan's choice of a sledgehammer was right out of the 80's, whereas Sensei Button preferred a crowbar with which she made short work of a TV! BRILLIANT time. It's surprisingly difficult to smash bottles when you chuck them! What a mess we made! 😁 got a few bullseyes with both axe and Angel blades. So happy about that.

Went into Southampton today and bought a mystery minion box. It's totally random, you don't know what you're going to get. My husband picked my box and I got this little guy.....

Met with these lovely people last night. Invited to Kyudokan to have a watch. Was very interesting seeing the different ways things are done. Also great to meet another woman Sensei.

We have LEAFLETS! 👐👐👐

Good lesson last night. Implemented some changes. Shihan learnt a variation on our Saifa kata - let's see if it's remembered next lesson - place your bets! 🤣

Back to training tonight. Looking forward to see our students again and to help them continue their karate journey. 😁

Spent the morning with our friends at Zanshin Karate Club working through some higher kata. Went well. Thank you to Sensei Ben for extra insight. Nice that, even though we do things slightly differently, there's a middle ground of understanding and respect between our clubs. 😁

FINALLY managed to sort out our website. For someone that has no clue, I'd call that a win! 👍

Again, no training this week. Am missing seeing my students 😒 going to be working super-hard when we return 👍 however, lots of work going on behind the scenes. 😁
