Things I do to help my mental health
β
Mental health isnβt something Iβm super open about on here, but it is something I struggled with in the past, and something I try to help my clients with too, as itβs such an important part of a fitness journey
β
So if youβre struggling a little lately, especially with the colder darker days, do these things and I promise you, you will feel better π€
β
- Movement, especially in the morning. I donβt know what it is about a morning walk or even a little bit of stretching, but it seriously helps to clear my head and set me up for the day feeling good. It doesnβt have to be anything major, even a 10 minute walk around the block will do the trick
- prioritising eating good, whole foods and minimising processed foods. Donβt get me wrong, I love a sweet treat or a pizza every now and then, but I swear after a big weekend of not eating great, I never feel great too, and that goes for the opposite, when you eat well, you will naturally feel better too, your gut produces most of your serotonin (happy hormone) after all π₯
- Knowing when to say no and prioritise yourself. Itβs so easy to get caught up in social plans and events, especially in the lead up to Christmas, but you canβt pour from an empty cup, so remember that its okay to say no and take that time to recharge and refocus π©·

The last few weeks have truly been so good doing what I love and romanticising the little moments π©·

Full day of eats π₯

Now that Iβm working in a lab, meal prep has become my best friend again so I thought Iβd do a little what I eat
β
Brekkie - blueberry muffin overnight oats
Lunch - teriyaki chicken, rice, tenderstem broc
Pre workout - yogurt, banana and a squares bar
Dinner/ post workout - fajita chicken, rice, salad and avocado π₯
β
At the moment, the focus is keeping things simple whilst staying on plan, Iβm still figuring out my routine so simplicity is key, especially when calories are fairly low

Mini cut update
β
Currently about 2/3 weeks into the mini cut and only a few weeks left to go π
β
Iβm actually really enjoying this phase and seeing the progress I want to see, feeling leaner, scale weight is down to 61.2 and hoping to drop another kg or so π₯
β
Routine is being nailed and currently not making any changes as weβre seeing the progress and Iβm loving the journey
β

Mini life dump π€
This week has been another standard week, locked in and focused on work and my goals
1 - the pastel gym fits are staying, even if itβs autumn now
2 - pretty sunset walkies - I swear there is nothing better than a sunset walk π
3 - standard oat bowls
4 - JD shift days
5 - more walks
6 - coffee and work blocks
7 - new phone day!!! Iβve had my iPhone 11 for over 4 years and when I tell you it was dyingβ¦
