By going barefoot free, on natural surfaces such as grass, wet soil, stone, sand etc. The practice is fact, based on the multitude of research and studies that direct physical contact with the Earth's surface can promote physiological and psychological health.

🦶 Taking off your shoes/socks and going barefoot free allows your body to get more sensory input from your feet. (Aka Foot Core Foundation) You get a much better FEEL for the ground beneath, how balanced and stable you are, and what your weight distribution is like.
The improved feel alone is why many people prefer barefoot connection training. It allows for a much better ‘connection’ when performing exercises on your feet even? when using weight and resistance equipment. The feet are your body’s base/foundation after all!
🦶 Barefoot Connection training also allows you to get better use of your foot musculature. Your feet can sense and grip the ground much better. Then they are covered in socks and restrictive gym shoes
Anything that impedes your feet from working naturally can get in the way of its optimal use:
- If your shoes are narrower than your foot (most are), then foot gets compressed and cannot function as well.
- If you have an elevated heel in your shoe (most do), then you are loading your body differently compared to being flat.
- If your shoe is stiff (most are), it won’t let your foot and toes naturally bend and articulate during exercises that require it to (lunges, squats for example).

1) Humans weren’t intended to wear socks and shoes, The FOOT was evolved with all these tiny sensory muscles and tissues, so they can work on gripping, balancing and holding us up. "Barefoot running"
also known as foot striking or minimalist running, has gained popularity in recent years due to its benefits for running and overall Wellbeing.
However, one crucial aspect of running, especially in barefeet, is the role of our calf muscles pumping blood to the heart.
When we run, our calf muscles help to pump blood upwards to our heart, which is known as the “muscle pump” effect. This effect is more pronounced when running barefoot or in minimalist shoes, as the thinner soles and reduced heel-to-toe drop allow for more natural foot strike.👍
The muscle pump effect is achieved through the contraction and relaxation of our calf muscles (gastrocnemius and soleus). When the muscles contract, they compress blood vessels and create a pressure gradient that pushes blood upwards to the heart. As the muscles relax, blood flows back into the legs, creating a continuous cycle that helps to maintain blood circulation. 👍
In a study published in the Journal of Applied Physiology, researchers found that running BAREFOOT Free, resulted in a greater increase in calf muscle activity compared to running in conventional feet deforming gym/fashion running shoes. This increased muscle activity led to a higher muscle pump effect, which in turn improved blood flow to the lower limbs.
The benefits of Barefoot Connection Within Fitness & Running Sessions include:
1. Enhanced blood flow: Increased blood flow to the muscles and other tissues helps to deliver oxygen and nutrients, reducing fatigue and improving performance.
2. Reduced blood pooling: The pressure gradient created by the muscle pump effect helps to push blood upwards to the heart, reducing blood pooling in the lower limbs.
3. Improved venous return: The muscle pump effect helps to promote venous return, which is the flow of blood from the lower limbs back to the heart.
