Should the man we credit with the spread of wing chun, and the rise of Bruce Lee be this man.. Wong Shun Leung.. the man responsible for teaching Bruce Lee.. Being of mixed race Bruce wasn't welcomed by the full Chinese students, so GM Ip Man gave the task of teaching Bruce to Wong sifu.. even though Bruce only learned a third of the Wing Chun system before leaving HK, without Wong sifu he wouldn't have learned anything..

NEWSFLASH...
Theres no such thing as the BEST martial art...

Effectiveness relies solely on how the art is taught, and how the individual trains.. thats it, no magic..
Folk will tell you this or that is best, and what they think is crap usually because they're trying to sell their own art, style or club.. Ignore the noise, pick the art that you want to learn and find a good club.

Wing Chun... its a hard style, its isnt soft, nor is it weak.. anyone that has had the privilege to touch hands with any 1st generation Ip Man students will testify to this.. powerful forward intent, and constant forward pressure.. thats how Ip Man taught it.. too many poor instructors out there teaching watered down, weak knock of wing chun that has no resemblance to the original art.. we intercept, redirect and smash our way through defenses, using angles, forward energy and intent.. we are direct and explosive.. if we're not doing this, then its not wing chun..

What an i say about my friend Terry Valler.. well, I could say (honestly) that he's the nicest and most genuine guy you'll met, or that he's probably the longest consistent martial arts contact i have. Tel has achieved great things in the many years I've known him, yet has always remained humble.. we both started our current paths at the same club, way back in the early/mid 90's.. and, although the training wasn't the best, and the knowledge passed on limited, it set us both on our (albeit different) pathways.. very early on i remember Tel saying his ambitions were in the JKD system (am proud to have helped in a small way).. mine were always rooted in Wing Chun..
Generous to a fault, a kind and all round decent bloke.
Tel, many years of friendship.. long may it continue.
