Good morning everybody.
As you know we have an anxiety support group every Tuesday evening at 6pm. The conversation often veers towards eating.
When your mental health is hard to manage, eating might be the last thing on your mind. All your energy is focused on trying to get through the day. When you reach 'bed time' you feel exhausted, you haven't eaten all day and as a result your sleep is poor. Poor sleep increases your anxious thinking and the circle begins again.
When joined the support group one evening we formed the idea of a cook along. So to trial it we got a few people together and cooked along one day last week.
Vanessa's intention was to inspire everyone (but especially those struggling) to nurture their health by creating a quick, easy, fairly priced meal that tastes delicious. In our opinion she nailed it!

Back in early January we had the idea to try and help you with a series of events; chats with local practitioners, lunch time social zoom meets, morning hypnosis sessions and an anxiety support group. The idea was to run this until today, with the hope in mind that we will be on our way out of restrictions and life can become easier.
We're not so sure what this afternoon's announcement by the PM will detail and so we intend to continue the anxiety support group every Tuesday evening at 6pm. We aim to send an email to those on the mailing list before it begins each week as a reminder. The chats with local practitioners will continue monthly. You can find the previous chats on podcast and YouTube.
Please join us tomorrow evening if it will help you, there is no requirement to be on time or to have your video on!

Anxiety in the Pandemic, why you're told it's your fault.
"During this time there is so much shame and inability to communicate, a lack of tolerance for alternative or different views, censorship. All of these things are on the rise, all of these things cause alienation and create an environment where you don’t feel free to communicate openly, open communication is necessary for good mental health. The ability to have a discourse, to have a debate, to disagree, integral for healthy and thriving societies, all of these things are being foreclosed…. Perhaps together we can work to construct alternatives. Where we can look to traditions, where we can look to the vanguard of modern philosophers and thinkers, to create solutions that are outside of the box, because you know, inside of the box is only incarceration. We have to go outside of the box now, we have no choice.
It is necessary for all of us to acknowledge that there is a spiritual dimension to our lives. Spiritual simply means wellbeing, the way that we feel. We need to incorporate meditation, prayer, focus, transcendence from our ordinary life and the recognition that our material life cannot fulfil us.
