Felixstowe & Walton United were left to rue missed chances as two late penalties saw AFC Sudbury sn**ch an unlikely point in a dramatic 2-2 draw.

The Seasiders started brightly and created chances almost immediately, with Josh Hitter striking the side netting before Tom Warren put Felixstowe ahead after just seven minutes, directing a header into the far corner.

Jose Santa De La Paz was denied by a good save, while Joe Whight saw an effort flash across the face of goal as Felixstowe continued to dominate proceedings.

Sudbury managed to stem the tide for a spell, but Felixstowe restored their pressure before doubling their advantage just before half-time. Warren rose superbly to meet an excellent ball over from Zak Brown, directing his header back across the goalkeeper and into the net to make it 2-0 after 42 minutes.

The home side continued to control the game after the interval, with Warren coming close to completing his hat-trick. He headed over early in the half before seeing a curling effort drift narrowly wide.

Felixstowe appeared to be heading comfortably towards three points, but the visitors were handed a route back into the contest when they were awarded a penalty with six minutes remaining. Reuben Chinnery converted in the 84th minute.

Then, deep into stoppage time, Sudbury were awarded another spot-kick. Chinnery again took responsibility, this time seeing his effort strike the inside of the post before finding the net to complete a remarkable comeback.

For Felixstowe, it was two points dropped after dominating for virtually the entire contest.

A dominant half for the home side. Josh Hitter struck the side netting early on as the chances came thick and fast for Felixstowe. It took just 7 minutes for one to count, Tom Warren directing his header into the far corner. Jose Santa De La Paz saw his effort well saved and Joe Whight shot across the goal line as Felixstowe continued to press. The visitors stemmed the flow for a period but Tom Warren leapt to head back across the keeper for a superb goal on 42 minutes from Zak Brown’s excellent ball over.
