Rhondda Golf Club

Good morning Rhondda.

What do you think of this magnificent view from Rhondda Golf Club?
Hey guys! Just an idea. I’ve text this to Ian and waiting on a reply. Let me know what you think 🤔

“I know it’s out of hours. But do you think I could try and get a Society going for like a Thursday night where the younger players play from the ages of 16 to 30 odd? All put a two pound in a pot. Pound towards the winner and pound towards the club. Just feel like the younger players don’t really play with each other and it would be nice to get to know the younger players. Let me know mate! Just an idea 👍”
A big thank you to everyone who voted for me in Favchef, the top 15 closed last night and I finished in 10th place. The next round of voting is now open until 4th March to finish in the top 10 so I’m asking for all your votes again and remember you get a free vote every 24 hours I’m so grateful for your votes

Anyone have the log in or app information for members to book a tee time for the course? not had an email with relevant Information. Thanks.
Is there an online booking for tee times monday or is it a case of ringing the shop to book on? If so when is the shop open to ring?
Is the course opening back up on the 18th?

Hi everyone
All members will be emailed a survey from Wales Golf within the next 24 hours. This survey gives you the opportunity to have your say and allows us to benchmark where we are as a club with regards to the course, facilities, clubhouse etc. Can I please ask you to spend 5 minutes to complete this survey? The more members who participate then the more accurate the picture we gain. The survey will be live for 30 days.
The results of the survey will be controlled and collated by Wales Golf who will provide a presentation with the results.
cheers guys
Chris English

With the dark evenings starting to draw in, can we please ask any members who have hired a club buggy to return to buggy to the buggy shed after their round? Thank you

Finals Day 2022
Spectators welcome

Due to the very sad passing of her majesty Queen Elizabeth II, we have decided, as a mark of respect to fly our club flag at half mast during our club finals day and the day of the funeral. I am sure as members, whether you are royalists or not, you agree this is a respectful action to take.

Last weekend saw Rhondda Golf Club hosting our Open Day. The day was very successful with over 180 golfers taking part. We had over 40 visitors from other courses. The course was looking fantastic, this event was a great window for our club. This is due to the hard work of our ground staff, well done all 👏. Thank you to the ladies section for their assistance throughout the day. Also thanks to Martin the bar staff for doing us proud again.
Congratulations to all the winners 👏

Last Saturday, Rhondda Golf Club had a visit from John Smith, John is from Scotland and is completing a challenge of visiting over 100 golf courses in a year. John will then review the course. This is a quote from John's film he made on the course..
"Wow!! Sometimes when you go to big name courses and you have high expectations, you end up a wee bit disappointed, well this isn't a big name course. Didn't have any expectations and it's just blew me away, absolutely fantastic course. £20 quid for a Saturday lunch time. The course is in absolutely magnificent condition, the greens are superb, fairways are excellent, you wanna see the views here. Some of the holes are absolutely jaw dropping, the 7th par 3 and then you come to the 14th playing over 2 ponds, another stunning hole, there are cracking holes all around this course, it was absolutely exhilarating playing it. I love this course to bits, it's a must play, it's really strange when you find a hidden gem and this is definitely one of them, fantastic, no doubt for me, its a 10 out of 10 all the way"
Thank you John

In an effort to maintain the condition of our course, we are organising a ‘Divot Evening’ on Wednesday 3rd August at 5pm.
You may of noticed certain areas and holes where there are a high number of divots.
We would really appreciate if you could spare a couple of hours to participate in this necessary work. If you could bring a bucket and a trowel that would be really helpful.
There will be refreshments in the bar afterwards and depending on numbers, potentially a quiz.

Thank you

A huge thank you to Ian Ellis, Steve Holley, Alan Westcott, Ladies section and everyone for the help and support I received, everyone who either sponsored a hole or provided prizes for the raffle, Martin and his staff for the service, my other half Bec for providing refreshments on the 9th and a thank you to you, the members for firstly braving the weather and secondly for supporting the day and my charity so well. Congratulations to each of the winners.
As you know my Captain's charity is ANDYSMANCLUB, who provide support to men going through tough times and tackling men's su***de. This is a very worthy cause and I am therefore extremely happy to have raised £2480. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed.

Remodelling of green side mounds for enhanced aesthetic appearance and ease of maintenance.

We get a visit every evening from mindless individuals who leave their rubbish with us, spoiling this fantastic view.

Grateful thanks to all members who supported the charity fundraiser earlier this year in memory of our good friend and past member Steve Bradley. Gone but not forgotten.

Latest announcement from the First Minister:

"The whole of Wales will be placed under lockdown from midnight with festive plans cancelled for all but Christmas Day.

The changes mean that a Wales-wide lockdown, which was due to come into affect from 28 December, has been brought forward and will begin at midnight tonight.

All of Wales will be placed into the highest level of lockdown - Level 4 - with all but essential shops closed, and people being told to "stay home" to save lives."

It is with great regret that unfortunately this means Rhondda Golf Club is now closed until further notice, this includes the golf course, all practice facilities, the clubhouse, including the bar, lounge, locker rooms and all outbuildings and buggy and trolley storage facilities.
