🐦 Sharing our shores with our feathered friends
At Findhorn Watersports, we're lucky enough to spend our days on some of Scotland's most beautiful waters — and that comes with a responsibility to look after the wildlife we share it with.
That's why we've set up a bird feeding station here at the centre. Findhorn Bay and the surrounding coastline are a haven for all kinds of birdlife, from wading birds working the mudflats to songbirds in the dunes, and providing a reliable food source helps support them through the leaner months, especially over winter when natural food can be scarce.
It's a small thing, but it matters. Healthy bird populations are a sign of a healthy ecosystem, and as a business that depends on clean water and thriving nature to do what we love, giving something back feels like the least we can do.
Next time you're down at the centre for a sailing or powerboat session, take a moment to see who's stopped by for a snack. You might spot more than you expect! 🌊🦆

Looking for something to get the kids off the sofa this October break? Join the Findhorn Watersports Sailing Squad!
Whether they're brand new to sailing or already hooked, our friendly instructors will help them build skills, confidence and friendships out on the water. Expect fresh air, big smiles and plenty of wind in their sails. 🌊

We welcomed Block 2 of the After School Sailing Club for Forres Academy, Moray pupils this afternoon 😀 They did really well in the conditions, managing to sail and achieve a figure of 8 course - pretty good going for the 1st session!
Huge thanks to Berry Burn Community Fund, Sportscotland, RYA Scotland and Moray Council for the funding for this activity and to Active Schools and Community Sport Moray for their help.in making these sessions happen 🙏🙏

Our Saltwater Scholars programme for home educated children is running on Monday and Friday mornings, providing all sorts of benefits!
Time on the water is always good for mental well-being, raising awareness of the environment, as well as building resilience in the young people. We do include RYA certificates in the training, as well as RYA OnBoard which focusses on independence, confidence, teamwork, communication, creativity and determination. The sessions last for 3 hours and cost £36 per child and these sessions will be running until 5th October. The cost includes wetsuits, spray tops and buoyancy aids as well as a steady supply of hot chocolate! To find out more, drop us an email to [email protected].
