Thank you! ❤️
Now the Northeast weekend has come to an end, we want to offer our deepest gratitude and thanks to every person that gave up their time to help us on the day.
From marshalls and caterers, to course layers and admin and those that kindly donated gifts and prizes, every single one of you outdid yourself, and that was reflected in the praise and kind comments from archers from clubs far and wide. Events like this are only as good as those that offer their time, effort and kindness.
Without your commitment and willingness to step forward, weekends like this simply wouldn’t be possible. You should all be incredibly proud of the part you played in creating such a welcoming, enjoyable and memorable event for everyone who attended. We truly couldn’t have done it without you.

NORTHEAST WEEKEND
Hi everyone. With only days to go we need to advise all archers about that annual annoyance that all field archers must face.
Horse flies!!
We’ve been final prepping the course and have succumbed to them ourselves. I’m sure many of you know the drill already, but a few pointers which might help anyone new to these horrible little buggers.
Wear bright clothing, and cover arms and legs if possible. Horseflies are attracted to dark colours like black, navy and dark browns and greens.
Use a repellant that contains DEET or Picaridin. Picaridin is often the better choice as it won’t damage leather, strings, clothing and equipment like DEET can.
If you see a horse fly land on yourself or a fellow archer. Try and kill it, they return repeatedly and are aggressive in nature. (Don’t do this while someone is at full draw however 🤣)
Avoid disturbing the long grass too much as this in turn disturbs resting horseflies, sending more of them into the immediate area.
I’m sure many of you already know how annoying these seasonal pests are and what measures to take. We just want you all to have the best day possible 😊
****
(There will be repellent spray available on the day for those wishing to use it).

NORTHEAST WEEKEND
Hi everyone. With the shoot fast approaching, we hope you are all geared up for a fantastic weekend. We are looking forward to welcoming you all 😊🏹
Just a friendly reminder. As many of you will know, the road to the course has recently been resurfaced after a lengthy period of disrepair.
There will be a lot of traffic in and out on the day, so can we ask that everyone keep below 10mph. This preserves the road not only for the shoot, but for visitors throughout the year.
Thank you and see you all next weekend 😊
