A fantastic T20 run came to an end on Sunday after a brilliant effort in North Wales.

We secured a great win over Edgworth in the semi-final, but came up short against a very strong Northern side in the final.

Boys, you did us proud and represented the club brilliantly. Top 2 in the county isn’t bad!👏

24hr Cricketathon We’re holding a 24hr junior Cricketahon to raise funds for our junior cricket section at Fleetwood CC.

Yesterday marked the final game of the season for our Ladies Hardball team, and what an incredible first season it has been. Competing in their very first hardball league, 15 ladies have proudly represented Fleetwood throughout the season, alongside two girls from our junior section who have also stepped up and contributed brilliantly.

The final fixture saw Fleetwood host Garstang at home.

Captain Gill got the day off to the perfect start by winning the toss and electing to field first.

Bobbi opened the bowling with excellent accuracy and was inches away from an early wicket. Morgan followed with a fantastic maiden over, immediately showing the high standard Fleetwood had set. Bobbi then returned to take the first wicket of the innings and conceded just a single run in her second over.

Judith bowled tightly, restricting Garstang to singles, while Katie continued the pressure with two brilliant overs. Usha also impressed, allowing just two runs in her opening over, and Heidi claimed a wicket by bowling straight through to middle stump.

Garstang fought back with some well placed boundaries, but Fleetwood's fielding was outstanding.

Emma, Gill and Katie worked tirelessly to protect the boundary, with Katie producing a brilliant diving stop and Morgan backing up superbly to prevent further fours. Gill was equally determined behind the wicket, doing everything she could to keep Garstang's score in check.

At the end of the innings, it was Fleetwood's turn to bat.

Heidi and Judith opened the batting, with Heidi striking four boundaries and Judith adding one of her own. Despite some excellent bowling and fielding from Garstang resulting in two wickets, Fleetwood made a positive start.

Katie and Usha were next to the crease. Katie played some excellent shots all around the ground, finding five boundaries, while Usha added a boundary of her own and rotated the strike well with some valuable singles.

Emma and Morgan then faced a challenging spell of bowling, but after settling in they began to build momentum, collecting singles and seeing Emma find the boundary twice. Garstang remained determined, taking two wickets and producing some excellent fielding to stop runs just short of the boundary.

The final pair, Gill and Bobbi, knew there was pressure to add crucial runs. They kept their composure brilliantly, with Bobbi hitting two excellent fours and Gill powering her way to four boundaries.

Their efforts proved enough, and Fleetwood secured a fantastic victory to round off a memorable first hardball season.

A huge thank you to Lee for stepping in at the last minute to umpire, and to Luke for scoring. Thank you also to everyone who has come down to support the ladies throughout the season your encouragement has been greatly appreciated.

Finally, a special thank you to Captain Gill. Your motivation, encouragement and enthusiasm have inspired so many players to make the transition from softball to hardball cricket. Your passion has rippled throughout the team all season, and you have led by example every step of the way, even taking on one of the bravest positions on the field. Thank you for everything you have done for this team.
